Somewhat true, but he is still very serviceable. CP3 destroys Lowry, and lets me real Bledsoe is a better PG/player than Lucas. Here is a completely subjective/silly rating out of 10 to illustrate why i believe it is not a draw:

CP3, Billups, Bledsoe > Lowry, Caldy, Lucas
9 + 6 + 6.5 = 21.5 > 8 + 7 + 5 = 19.5

I might be overrating Lowry, and underrating Bledsoe. But my point was to show that CP3+Billups is almost equal to Lowry+Caldy. The difference is Bledsoe. The kid is waaaaaay better than Lucas. Hell Billups is better than Lucas.

Side note...in a couple years if given the opportunity, Bledsoe has a legitimate chance to do some great things at PG.

Jack as always been a pitchman as well as an analyst. And I suspect he might be trying to pitch the idea that it would be best to not make who starts at pg an issue, without actually bringing it up as an issue himself.

That doesn't work either, unfortunately.

Consider this. The Raps trade a 2013 lotto protected pick to MIN for Rubio and Love (yay!). So now the 2013 pick is either going to MIN if we make the playoffs or HOU if we don't (assuming we don't win the lotto). Seems like no problem.

But looking closer, you've created the opportunity to trade picks in consecutive years, and even the possibility of that is not allowed. Let's say the Raps just miss the playoffs this year. Pick goes to HOU, with the promised pick to MIN getting bumped back to 2014 because of the lotto protection. Then next year we make the playoffs. Pick goes to MIN. Consecutive picks traded - that's illegal.

And it doesn't matter what year you put the pick in originally - the other pick could theoretically keep getting bumped back until the two are consecutive. So there's no way to do it without getting another pick from another team.
