Summary:

Jack's thoughts on Turk's comments
- Hedo is standing up for a former teammate and that prompted the whole thing. Jack agrees with Turk's comments in regards to Chris Bosh. He does not agree with his comments about the organization.
- Reiterated his disappointment about BCo's decision to comment about Bosh publicly. Thought that Chris Bosh gave his heart and soul for the franchise and did not have the pieces around him, even though he might be a complementary piece himself.
- The back-and-forth between BCo and Bosh was the perfect opportunity for Hedo to make these comments. In the time he was here, the franchise coddled Hedo and he took advantage of the organization.

Jack's thoughts on BCo's general managing style on these issues (Bosh, Turk)

- He said if he was MLSE, he would raise an eyebrow to what's going on right now with BCo and Jay Triano. No changes but the leash gets shorter. Encourage improvement.
- Trying to engage in a war of words with Chris Bosh was a bad idea. It brought out the idea that nobody wants to play in Toronto. Take the highroad and cherish Bosh's seven years and wish him the best.
- You wouldn't have heard from Hedo had BCo taken the highroad, even though he shouldn't have commented anyway.
- Agents, players, and the public aware of this new perception. Makes it harder to retain and obtain players in Toronto.

Jack's thoughts on the roster / what is left here in Toronto
- No idea. A tiring few months and a difficult past season to deal with. Jack has a hard time believing that this will be the roster we see on opening night. He also believes that we'll have some sort of roster change once the season begins / we get into Feb.
- Talked about the Blue Jays winning a world championship in 16 years. BCo has to right the ship and get something done. Not sure reinventing and tinkering can be utilized for success.
- WHAT'S THE VISION? Thinks we need to get back to that. Are we building towards a championship?

Is the ultimate vision possible (in light of leadership, this new perspective)
- The Piston model is what Armstrong would use.
- Thinks the Raptors being the only Canadian team makes it tougher and the sport of basketball gets overwhelmed by the NHL teams
- How can teams be good year in and year out (like the Utah Jazz)? You need to figure out which guys will be hard nosed and effective players. There are players who would rather be in Toronto over some US cities. You need to find the right guys.

Chris Bosh, best thing to happen to toronto and the country in the last seven years, perhaps one of the most influencial basketball players of all time.

I am losing respect for Jack Armstrong every time he makes these comments. In terms of casting the first stone, he is well-known for his boisterous temperament and his tongue-wagging ways and should indeed be the last person to criticize Colangelo's pretty restrained comments on Bosh. Player not wanting to come and play here being a "new perception"? Really, Jack? Does the name Kenny Anderson mean anything to you, you Jackass?!

In short - let the dogs bark. This caravan goes on.

I really liked Armstrong's comments about the team's vision.
What the hell are we doing here?
I'm looking at this roster and I see a Leafs-esque wallowing in mediocrity.

I wasn't claiming exclusivity, unfortunately, and yours does pre-date mine. The list is quite long too.

How I wish all this would just go away! We live in this disgusting, blog-driven era of "perceptions" when people can't make up their own minds anymore and everyone and their uncle are trying to influence perceptions of perceptions of perceptions, praying those would thus become a new reality while strengthening their "prophetic" hold on the masses...

The Toronto Raptors a team that no body wants to play for ????

Now the organization is trying to trade a player that always wanted to be and is still a Raptor. A player that could have left the Raptors, but decided to sign again with us again, could have made more money and could have gone to a better team. The day they trade this guy is the day all respect will be lost by fans of the Toronto Raptors. That day if it happens will show that Carter , McCrady, and Bosh did the right thing !

Calderon?

You're making it sound like we're desperate for anyone loyal.

We are not desperate, why are we looking to trade our best pg ??? A player that wants to remain here, a guy that loves the city, a guy that comes to work everyday. A guy that puts the team ahead of personal goals.
So much talk about players not wanting to play here then you have one and now you are looking to trade him.

I was just trying to point out it was happening before the team had even played a game in the league.

Is it Jack's job to attract and sign players to the Raptors organization? No, so the comparison is useless.

I agree with Jack, and said right from the outset that BC should've just kept his mouth shut because it's just amplifying the gong show factor within the organization. A futile war of words in the media is not the sort of battle you want one of your top executives to engage in.

Actually, our American brother brings up a good point - how come a Canadian message board employs an American spell-checker? Mods?
