Default Jack Armstrong Blown Away by BC's Comments

Jack knows what's what

LINK - FAN590 podcast

I'll give a fairly accurate word for word without all the hems and haws -

•What did you make of Colangelo last night? Did he call Bosh out?

Yes - no doubt and I was shocked frankly. For him to lay those comments on the audience - there was definitely intent there, and I was very surprised...Lebron handled things very poorly, but Gilbert didn't handle it well either - now when I heard Bryan I was surprised because to have a guy they were calling a partner that they are going to portray in a different light after the fact is not going to reflect well on players and agents that see aguy's character get trashed and it is so unlike how he normally handles himself.

•Was it in some way in response to some of the heat and criticism coming his way?

I think there could be a little bit of that. There is blame to go all around, and there is going to be the natural response to say that they tried everything they could to make things work, but at the end of the day looking at CB, being around him everyday for 7 years, on the whole, not every single day, but on the whole, I think he did a pretty damn good job, I thought he was a pretty damn good player. And when you start questioning a guy's pain tolerance, going into the final season of a guy's contract, that he's going to err on the side of caution, and you have to know that and live with it, and it seems questionable to question him now when I thought he gave it his all for the seven years when he was here.

•What about BC hinting at the aspect of collusion which might have caused Bosh to shut down mentally after the AS game.

Was the problem with the team primarily him or was it the guys around him? Bosh's numbers remained very good when he was healthy. When you know all the dynamics of the other players that were in play, you go into moving forward with your eyes wide open as to issues that could arise with the possibilities of them thinking about joining up.

•BC's track record is mediocre at best so far this summer, with some embarrassing moments. With a team as fragile as this right now, some of those steps have not been positive steps.

I would agree with that, but in Bryan's defense a deal isn't done until it's done. Fans will take issue, but at the end of the day they weren't deals, and I give him credit for trying to make those deals. But I go back to the comments that he made concerning Bosh, and even looking at the connection with Jerry Colangelo and coach K, I'm not sure coach K would say those things about Chris Bosh. Again - I was blown away by it. I really was. And again - Chris Bosh is not perfect, and is by no means in the same category as a Kobe or Jordan, but he is a very good player that had a really good run in Toronto. He had every right to make the decision to leave. And you can debate that he was shutting it down late or that he was being cautious, or that the team was being cautious to ensure that he retains his full value and not become a distressed asset in a possible sign and trade.

thanks Jeff - I looked through the thread and did not find Jack's views on this lol

If Jack Armstrong doesn't deserve to have his thoughts contained outside of a long thread of venting then that's too bad - it's happening anyway.

But - hey - I'll just leave it to you to start threads ok?

Jack is a nice guy but totally wrong on this issue.
What does his dad and Coach K have to do with anything about the Raptors.
He must have taken TorRap koolade.

I think it's pretty easy to figure out that he was pointing to the esteem that those two hold Bosh in, and that makes BC's approach that much more shocking to Jack.

Of course he's totally wrong - what would he know? He's only been there every day face to face with all concerned parties, as well as had his own experience with such issues.

Actually he hit the nail in the coffin, BCs being a little bitch now trying to stir up negativity and hate for Bosh cuz he didnt do a sign and trade, Jack just called BC out. BC also realizes all the other teams are definitely ramping up their rosters (eg: wizards, bulls, miami) while we got....hmm...nm...we got crap to show for moves this off season so far and with the free agent market thinning and thinning, theres barely much left out there for the raps to pick

BC needs to check his comments and stop behaving like a butt hurt little child. Bosh left cuz BC could not build a proper team. He made a career decision so he can win a championship something that will never happen here in Toronto the way things were going in the past and are going now.

I love Jack and he's certainly not in the same position as BC, but didn't he let Bosh have it in one of his blogs.

Indeed he did. But I think you just touched on the salient point: "he's certainly not in the same position as BC." As a member of the media, Jack is not considered an official rep of the franchise. Also, Jack was questioning Bosh's off-court antics, not his "heart" or commitment to actually playing the game last season. At least that's what I recall.

He disliked the way he handled the tweeting. He's said that a number of times. He says here that Bosh isn't perfect. With the tweeting he said he was "surprised", and he told Bosh personally that he was disappointed in that.

Several time leading up to his "decision".

And he said today that his recent statements in the last week or two have also been disapointing. He's lost quite abit of respect for him.

But not to the point where he understood where fans were coming from when they suggested that Jack was too soft on him in his interview. He explained his disappointment personally, and wasn't about to get all judgmental as fans wished. He repeated many times that he just wished he handled it a bit differently. He hardly went overboard with any lack of respect, as you can hear with his comments today.

wow jack hammers on BC for telling the truth meanwhile Chris Bosh gets to say whatever he wants

like I feel like a caged animal ready to get up or I have 7 years to makeup for because wasted them in Toronto

I watched almost every game Chris Bosh ever played, I never seen him quit but I do agree with Bryan Colangelo ever since he went down with the ankle injury he checked out

if you listen to the interview and hear bryan colangelos words and the context of which he says it, its not as bad as it sounds and this is a clear over reaction

the way the toronto media wrote the articles tried to suggest more than what BC meant

I remember reading many a posts on this board suggesting the same thing, that something happen to him after allstar break, you could jsut see in his face,
