I'd rather take Marbury. Atleast he can sit on the bench and nobody would say anything. Plus, if we are gonna get a rental might as well be one that helps us in next ears FS

I'd take anything Peter Vescey reports with a grain of salt.

Iverson will significantly increase the crime rate in Toronto area.

Why would anyone want iverson on their team. Look at the destruction he has caused in Motown. AI, stay far away.

Detroit had something going there. A championship core. If you did the same and added a star player to the Spurs, you'd mess everything up too. Raps have nothing to lose.

AI would probably actually do well here.
why? because AI is not a team player. when he tries to play a team game and is forced to play as a team player; he sucks and his team sucks.
here, he'd be told to do what he does best; score, ball hog, etc.

god, i cant even try to make an arguement for this guy... i hate him.

+1

AI would make matters worse for this team. He'd take away all cohesive flow. We know the ball runs through Bosh and Bargnani right now. With Iverson in the mix, he'd be taking away touches from both Bosh and Bargs - not necessarily a good thing. I can't see Colangelo bringing in someone that hinders Barg's development.

It could be that Detroit has 2 starting SG's and they both want to play. It's not like Rip is happy coming off the bench

replace iverson with rip and you have a deal ....

anyway, I like this deal - if iverson becomes a problem, you can just bench him, or even buy him out. It would bring MLSE some more revenues, and hopefully use that money to get a good coach this summer ...

I don't think MLSE will want to spend $20 mil or what ever amount he is owed for the rest of the season.
I wish we could have Rip but he's signed for 5 years and he's Detroit's SG

of course they will. Those money are spent regardless, and buying him out at least saves them a bit. And the contract is prorated, if there are under two months left, he would be owed 6 millions or something like that. Give him 5 and everybody is happy, and he can go to the celtics for the minimum to win a title (the only way he would ever be able to win one).

Iverson has to be a practical joke, I mean honestly, how do we take that seriously.

yeah - but in terms of creating shots, he would be 10x better than anybody we have. It's risky, but really, what do we have to lose? Worse come to worse and he creates problems/takes away from andreea and bosh, you bench him/trade him. We're talking about 2 months + significant cap room this summer, without the burden of marcus banks contract.
