It's time to stop booing VC

Seriously, thru 3/4s of the games he seem unmotivated and puts in a half ass effort, but we seem to want to wake him up out of his slumber when we play and let him get the last laugh as he owns us... just ignore him, let sleeping dogs lie, dont fool yourself, when motivated VC is a top 10 player in the world, he still can shoot daggers and fly around the rim and finish with both hands, i see no reason to get under his skin when it's obvious it just makes him play harder. He was so pumped up like i havent seen in years last night and honestly, he had every right to be, he gave a big STFU to all the fans booing him and the silly fans that act as if he isnt talented.

Booing him has nothing to do with whether he's talented or not.... it's OBVIOUS that he is.

He gets booed because he GAVE UP on the franchise and pretty much forced his way out of town after being a darling here for 5 years. You can't blame the fans for booing.

And it doesn't matter whether the fans boo or not.... Vince (like ANY good scorer) will kill us if our players play soft and our coaching is "meh".

Booing doesn't have to do with VC ability to play or to get pumped up. Let kids have fun ;)

Aar_Canada 11-22-2008 12:09 PM

Yeah, I'm fine with the booing. I find it very amusing. And even if it gets his sorry, lazy, leotard wearing ass pumped up, he deserves every one. It's a part of sports.

Am I the only one that hates VC more for wasting all the talent in the world than for screwing Toronto? Dude could have been the GOAT

Admiral 11-22-2008 03:35 PM

^^
i agree in many ways
actually, in vc's case, when he gets booed it actually affects his game negatively, the problem with yesterday's game was the crowd did a weak job of booing and didn't even use the VC SUCKS chant, which is why VC did well because he could sense the weak cheering and thought that people are getting over him

Yes. It's time to boo the Raps.

What I think would be more effective would be pure silence whenever Vince had the ball. That would be priceless and fuck with his head. :)

I was at the game. Booing made it so much for fun. Even though they lost the game was so exciting it was the best game ive ever been to.

There you go CB4 ... many people forgets that the NBA is all about entertainment, and the game against Nets was one of the best ever played in ACC. If Raptors would have 20 points advantage with 5 minutes to go the ACC would be almost empty. So, you got an unbelievable finish + extra 5 minutes OT with huge plays at both ends.

The MVP of West Hollywood 11-22-2008 05:42 PM

Absolutely... VC might honestly be one of the most naturally talented players in the history of the league. If he had MJ's drive, competitiveness, work ethic, etc., the league would've been FUCKED. Of course though, he didn't have those things so his career has mostly been a flash in the pan waste.

But yeah, a motivated pissed off Vince is not a good thing.

Gurk 11-22-2008 05:47 PM

It's time to because it's not as fun but people are still gonna boo him until he retires

Dr. J. Naismith 11-22-2008 05:50 PM

We boo Vince because of how he left this franchise and gave up on the Raptors while hurting his fans. We're upset because it was a huge copout by him because we knew he still could be the dominant player he still is today, but wussed out in turn forcing Babcock's hand in trading him.

I don't necessarily HATE Vince Carter, but I'm man enough to say that I'm still hurt as a fan on how he chose to leave Toronto. It was extremely immature especially when your suppose to be a professional, but I'm big enough to forgive Vince the person. I just won't forget as a fan.

Aar_Canada 11-22-2008 05:55 PM

I just remember going to a game - the only game I've ever been to - just to see Vince before he was traded. During the timeouts, rather than huddle around the coach, he'd grab a chair, place it 20 feet away (turned away!) from the huddle and sit there with a towel over his head and sulk.

jeffb 11-22-2008 07:36 PM

I was laughing my ass off when the fans were chanting VC Sucks in overtime after the 4th quarter he had and the last second three he hit to send it to overtime. It's quite rediculous.

Windex 11-23-2008 01:54 AM

I think we have to start booing the Raptors players to get them motivated

jumplvlan23 11-23-2008 02:54 AM

VC makes me sad more than anything.
To see that talented wasted...

He is probably one of the most UNDERRATED players in the league. He still puts up WICKED numbers 21+/6+/5+ every season, yet people think he is done/finished/washed up etc. These are numbers he gets SO EASILY its ridiculous.

I know the Raptors would be DYING for a player that could do 20/5/5 every night from the wing.

Imagine.. what he could POSSIBLY do.. if he put his mind to the game. It makes me sad as a fan of the game.

$-centz 11-23-2008 09:35 AM

VC feeds off the hate... lol
