It's always something!

In the off season BC set out to make a trade to get a second scorer and rebounder down low beside CB4 since Rebounding was our main weakness last season at both ends of the court.

So he aquired Jermaine O'neal hoping to help Bosh and the Raptors in the scoring/rebounding/Blocking departments.Has it worked? I would say yes.We have out rebounded the opposition in 7 of 10 games and JO/Bosh are averaging 40/20 per game and almost 3blk.

Now it appears we have other issues like lack of depth (our strength over the last 2 seasons) and an amazingly mind boggling amount of turnovers. It just always seems like as soon as we shore up one spot, there's always something else that just kills us.Now that we are Rebounding the ball better other issues are cropping up and bitting us on the ass.It just seems like a case of one step forward and two steps back. What next injury problems?

Lack of depth was just as much a concern at the start of the season as it now. Don't know why its coming as a surprise to you now though.

We'll be fine depending on everyone's expectations of this team. If you thought we were a serious contender now then your kidding yourselves, but if your taking this season in stride towards bigger and better things for years to come then you won't let your blood pressure go through the roof like 95% of Raptors fans are right now.

"Chicken Littles" need to relax a bit or at least dance more often with "Mary Jane" to help calm themselves.

I wasn't comparing the start of the season to now?

And i never thought we were contenders at all.But we look as if it'll be a struggle to get into the playoffs.

OK then, so where were you at the start of the season when 90% of this forum was complaining about our lack of depth? Are you just realizing this now?

as i see it and i have said it many many times, this team needed to find a way to keep carlos delfino and play him a lot more! he is sorely missed on both ends of the floor.

I was here saying the same thing. Most were saying that our starters would play heavier minutes and our rotation would basically be 8-9 deep. But our 10-12 players are playing more then expected and mostly are playing like shit. Not only that our 6-9 players in the rotation are playing very inconsistent which has just made things worse then it could/should be.This team lacks depth, but if we can't rely on our main 2-3 players coming off the bench for consistent play we're in major trouble. More then we realize.

i dont agree with the depth issue. our problem is a reliable wing. someone who can be consistent or at least more consistent than those we have now. we have now what... 3 subs really. i think that's ok. teams have gone far and well in a season with an 8...9 man roster. it's that starting 5 that's vital. if we have a good core of guys there then we'll be fine.

Out of our starters 2 should be coming off the bench.Any major injury 20+games) to CB4/JO or Calderon would criple this team.

We have 3 starters and 9 bench players on this team right now.

9 bench guys? are you talking about the ones who should be ON the bench or the ones that should come OFF the bench? if you mean the latter, it should be 2, and i am being generous to Roko Ukic as he is still so young! Kris and Roko are the only 2 that are playing like they care! can we just replace the rest with some guys from the d-league like the Heat did last year? save us a whole lot of cap room

that's my point. we need better player(s) at the 2 or 3 spot. once we get a reliable player to be our sg or sf to replace ap or bargs. then we'd be fine. right now... we've got 2 very inconsistent starters... that's my issue with our team and why we're struggling.

once u have that 5 players who'd take up 35+ mins a game... then just having 3 decent subs is good enough in my view.

I'm saying Jose/CB4/JO are our only legitimate starters on this team.On any other good NBA playoff team AP,Kapono and even Bargnani are all bench players with limited minutes. And the rest of our bench guys such as Joey, Hump, Solomon, Ukic etc..... are scrubs barely getting on the floor if not, getting cut at the end of trainig camp.

He's better then Adams/Kapono/Moon. And the way AP is playing maybe we would have started Delfino by now at SG possibly lighting a fire under Parker's ass.And he could help out at PG right now with Jose down.

Delfino is sorely missed by me right now!

i agree on all points! AP was supposed to be able to take PG in a pinch but Smitch felt he was a worse option than Will and Roko at this point. WOW we miss Carlos.

I have faith that the Legomaster will work something out to try and address the wing/depth problem. The thing I like about Colangelo is that he is never one to drag his feet when it comes to these things, whereas under Grunwall et al, we were crying out for a serviceable center for how many years? And what was the answer at the time? Hoffa.... And BC was able to get Humphries for that guy, basically doing his best Jesus impression turning water into wine.

HAVE FAITH IN THE LEGO MASTER!

When you trade you give up something to get something. TJ wasn't a wing player but he created his own show and thats what we really miss in terms of depth. Our starting 5 isn't too bad but when you look at our bench you would think the Raptors are a D league team.

Solomon-Adams-Moon-Humphries-Ukic is pathetic. You would think the Raptors can h ave somebody that can at least have some resemblance of an all around game.

I'm with Jeffb: Delfino would be a nice fit on this team right about now. However; I just know Mitchell would still be starting Moon if Delfino was still here

It's really all very simple. If the guys knew their roles instead of trying to play outside of it, this team would be much better.
Solomon and Moon - just look for your teammates, do a lot of drive and kick out. You shouldn't be shooting. Don't be so timid.
Humphries - you shouldn't be a black hole. Try passing sometimes. You should be boxing/blocking out and getting rebounds - that's where you're at your best. Stop attempting shots beyond 10 feet. Especially fadeaways. You're not Michael Jordan.
Moon - Stop biting at jump shots. Contest them, put a hand in their face, but don't jump into them trying to block everything. On offense, drive to the hoop - each and everytime.

Carlos Delfino was a jacker, and a gambler on both ends of the floor, he consistantly made selfish decisions and their was a reason he could never find a home in the NBA. Good luck to Carlos, and good riddance. The man had confidence and because of that he shined from time to time. But their isn't a whole lot of substance in his game.

What this team needs is absolutely nothing right now.

All of this isn't even about what the team needs. It's about what the fans need. And as always, what the Raptor fans need, is to chill the f*** out and enjoy a improved, and growing Raptor squad, who will without a doubt be in the playoffs for the third straight year.
