Good article. I like how Casey says he will be emphasizing defense. this clearly shows that defense was sacrificed for offense this past season.

On a side note, I was amused to read about DeRozan and Ed Davis's relationship. Davis is now godfather to DeRozan's daughter and they are really close. Looks like the bromance between Sonny Weems and Demar is long over.

Its great how DeRozan is always working hard in the off-season. Some players don't even workout in the off-season. I remember hearing lebron recently say the reason he gets better is because of the offseason... and that he wanted to surround himself with players who work in the offseason to get better (maybe he was referring to Cleveland, and his teammates didn't do that).

I don't think there is anyone good in the NBA who doesn't work in the off-season. I think they would get chewed up. You can't really live off of talent, you need atleast some skills.

Jamal Crawford publicly stated he never works out in the offseason, and for every year in the league hes just been playing off raw talent... I'm sure there are tons more like that.

Stephen Jackson doesn't play basketball in the off-season neither.

How the hell do you not workout or play basketball in the offseason as a NBA player? Does the money just consume these guys that much? Terrible example for youths and hope these guys go bankrupt.

Stephen Jackson said he doesn't workout in the off-season either. Instead he works on his rap career.

That's why he's so exclusively wanted.

Don't have to hope because most of them do go bankrupt.

Demar is like one of those restaurants where the descriptions of the food on the menu sound really great but the actual food is pretty meh.

Good one. Yeah, i'm still on the fence with him. I like him and his attitude but this is his 5th season coming up and if he doesn't improve defensively and/or with his 3pt shooting i'm done. Trading him this summer should be explored imo and it might very well happen, just not sure what we could get.

Do you feel like if he just becomes a slightly better, more efficient, more consistent version of what he already is it wouldn't be enough? He looked good with gay, but the lack of 3pt on the wings is a bit of a problem. Maybe if gay found a bit of 3pt touch next year? Maybe DD will not be worth 10mill but I think he can put up very solid numbers for us.

Gay has shown a 3pt touch in the past so I have a feeling he can be more consistent in that aspect. But Demar has never shown that, and his defense is a problem. We'll see what happens I guess, I really hope Ross improves and pushes him.

demar's one of those guys that doesn't need someone to push him to improve. he pushes with or without a player chomping at his heels, as we've seen

look at the contracts around the league, and look at demar's stats. he's ALREADY worth his contract
