Default Ingram's Chat Wrap: Bargnani On The Move?

Don't know how credible this Bill Ingram is, but he's hearing alot of Bargnani talk as of late.

Matthew in Oakville: salmons for Bargnani and a 1st is this a true rumor? its on your site

Bill Ingram: That's what we're hearing.

umair in toronto: Hello Bill. What do you think is up with the Raptors (they lost to oklahoma) and do you think they are still in the playoff picture?

Bill Ingram: They're certainly not in the playoff picture at the moment, but adding a scoring three will help. Let's see who they pick up and then address this again.

Can you imagine how shitty we would look IF we gave up a 1st round draft pick in a trade, AND we were still bad enough to not make the playoffs?

That would be a nightmare.

Just because this season has been shitty, doesn't mean we should put ourselves behind the 8ball for the seasons ahead.

Trading first rounders is bad. very bad.

A first overall pick and a first rounder for a third-tier swing man.

...

...

Ouch.

we can't be giving away this year's pick since we already traded a pick last year. Even if we did, it would probably be lottery protected .

I personally don't see how a Salmons for Bargnani and a 1st rounder is fair, but that's just me. You'd think that the Kings would have to part with someone or something else to make the deal a little more reasonable. I'm critical of Andrea as much as the next fan, but I don't see that proposed deal being fair in the slightest. JMO

Yeah trading picks is horrible, but BC needs to make some moves and it is not like we have any valuable assets. It is clear Bargs is no Dirk so we might aswell trade him before his stock decreases, and as Gurk pointed out this year draft class is not deep anyways. Oh yeah i wouldn't say John is a 3rd-tier swingman when he is a solid defender and has good offensive skills.

I don't mean trade the picks right now, but on draft day. That way we know what place we are and what we can get for that pick

No 1st rouder dammit. I'd rather do Bargs for Garcia straight up than give up that 1st.

the more i think about this, the more i think it's insane.

Bargnani (who still has a ton of potential) AND(!) a first rounder.... for one guy (salmons)?

No way.

are we re-hiring Babcock for this trade only?

Maybe so, but I wouldn't want to give up a 1st rounder along with Bargnani to acquire him. We'd be getting fleeced in that deal and Salmons isn't exactly the player that's really going to make that much of an difference here.

Yea same. IN the first thread where it said we would do this, I wanted too. But now I don't especially if that first is included

This is assuming BC trades for Watson....

Do you guys think Watson and Roko would be able to hold down the PG spot. Both are good defenders and Watson averages 6 pts and 6 dimes, the numbers might increase since we have more shooters than OKC. That being said we could trade Jose for a good all around swingman and keep Bargs (for now) and the first rounder. But yeah i know the downfall is PG depth but its just a thought

I'd love to get Collision here. Bargs for him is ok, it'd be great if we got him for Parker or something though if OKC is desperate. This team with Salmons and Collision is a lot better than they are now.
