I'm confused about your 1st round draft pick this summer

I tried looking it up, and this is what it told me:

Quote:

2014 second round draft pick from Sacramento
Sacramento's own 2014 2nd round pick to Toronto (Only if Sacramento's own 2014 2nd round pick is #31-#55 in the 2014 Draft) If Sacramento's 2014 2nd round pick is #56-#60 then Sacramento's obligations to send this pick to Toronto shall be extinguished. [Sacramento-Toronto, 7/16/2012]
/ 2013 first round draft pick to Oklahoma City
Toronto's own 2013 1st round pick to Oklahoma City via Houston (Top-3 Protected and 15-30 Protected in the 2013 Draft, top-2 protected and 15-30 protected in 2014, top-2 protected and 15-30 protected in 2015, top-1 Protected and 15-30 protected in 2016, top-1 protected and 15-30 Protected in 2017 and unprotected in the 2018 Draft. [Houston-Toronto, 7/11/2012 and then Houston-Oklahoma City, 10/27/2012]

Would somebody kindly explain what's up with the Toronto picks in english, and not in computer language? Thanks for your help. GO RAPTORS!

So this upcoming draft if the pick is in the lottery we have to give it up to OKC, if the pick however is from 1-3, then we get to keep it. As the years go by the pick becomes less and less protected and is eventually an unprotected pick. Seeing how we are doing this year we will most likely have to give up a high lottery pick to OKC

Next year Raps get 1-3, 15+. Okc get 4-14
Year 2 Raps get 1-2, 15+. Okc get 3-14
Year 3 Raps get 1-2, 15+. Okc get 3-14
Year 4 Raps get 1, 15+. Okc get 2-14
Year 5 Raps get 1, 15+. Okc get 2-14
Year 6 Unprotected

That makes sense, what doesn't make sense however, is how the heck did OKC get your 1st round draft pick?

Hope the pick stays with us this year and we make the playoffs for 5 years straight.:cookie:

Harden traded to Houston deal involved Houston giving up the pick that we gave for Lowry.

Toby 12-13-2012 02:05 AM

I see, thank you, that makes a little sense.

Are you joking? I can't tell if you're being saracastic, since some people might actually misunderstand what PSI wrote.

It's just 1 pick. The additional years he posted were simply to indicate what happens if the pick still has not been conveyed to OKC. Once we give them 1 pick, the obligation ceases to exist.

fancylad 12-13-2012 06:00 AM

what sucks is that it looks like we're going to be in play for a top 3 this year, but in doing so it makes it more likely that we won't even have a pick in the next and extremely deep draft (even though we in all likelihood should also be a bottom team at that time too). Whatever. It's hard to actually care.

rapsmannn 12-13-2012 06:28 AM

well where fucked, i don't see the raptors landing the picks they need, plus this is a superstar league,

your telling me that stern already told the own of okc that there drafting behind close doors,

how the fuck did we lose our pick and houston ends up wiht james harden

creative1mm 12-13-2012 09:36 AM

we are 2nd worse in the league rite now.. getting top 3 is not impossible

'trane 12-13-2012 09:45 AM

i don't see anyone in the 2013 draft, especially outside the top 3, that has any hope of being as good as lowry, so as far as i'm concerned it was a great deal. and i don't think we'll end up with a top 3 pick this year.

and I hope it stays that way

Even if we get the worst record, a top 3 pick isn't guaranteed

you can't dip lower then 3 if you have the worse record in the league

I don't, this is an awful draft. And it would be our luck to have the #2 or 3pick and get a dud, then next summer OKC gets a high pick and get another Harden. lol
