I want the losses to start piling up. With our current record and injuries, I can't see us finishing better than bottom 5-6 in the league. We might as well increase our chances of retaining a top 3 pick. If it doesn't work out, at least our debt is paid and that pick going to okc is going to be high this year regardless. If that's the case we'll have a chance at wiggins next year. just wish we could retain our 2014 pick with Andrew wiggins on the board. It's going to be difficult finishing as the worst team next year let alone this year. Plus the pick is top 2 protected next year. I would seriously consider reacquiring the pick from okc for Terrence Ross (which is what Houston probably initially asked for), but I really can't see presti letting go of that pick.

not sure if this is what you are implying, but you can drop 3 spots - from 1 to 4 (or 2 to 5 and 3 to 6).

We'll end up getting the 4th pick this year. That's how it is for Raptor fans.

i still don't think we would have been likely to get a player better than lowry at 4. he would be cheaper and there is the risk that lowry leaves, but i don't think we'd get better talent, especially over the next 3-4 years.

so what do you want to happen?

Are you content with us missing out on the top 3 and getting let's say the 8th-10th pick 2 drafts from now? Is that better than getting top 3 this year?

hoping that we score a top pick in two years (which seems the popular choice) basically makes for 2 seasons of unwatchable product. and quite frankly i don't think that's what the majority of fans would actually tolerate given the reactionary responses to the teams current state.

Me: I'll take a top pick this draft and hope the next GM is better at the job and go from there.

well, it's protected 1-3 this year if we end up there, so we have a shot at noel, shabazz or poythress (or another player if someone emerges). and if we end up 4-14, who are we going to miss out on? cody zeller? mcadoo? i just don't see any major talents there. i don't want this to become a jose-lowry thread, but i think we needed to make a change at pg. we did that, with a good one - probably the best out there that we had any chance at. and we retain the ability to pick top-3 this year in a draft that isn't looking shit-hot anyways. if we give that pick away, we'll have next years. if we don't it means we got a top 3 guy this year, and can hopefully be better than awful next year, making that pick lower (and it's top-2 protected anyway).

fine, get a new gm. but this trade doesn't hurt him unless lowry is inured or decides to bolt, or if someone outside the top-3 this year becomes a franchise player.

I actually didn't get what he wrote. lol Now I understand though. I actually thought it was all those picks for a second haha...

You guys will need to hire some players. It looks like you've drafted about all the talent you're going to get for awhile. Stank it up this year, get the #1,2 or 3, then hire some seroius ballers to play with DeRozan, JV, Ed Davis, and Lowry.

could be 2 Canadians in the 2013 draft

Myck Kabongo (PG) and Anthony Bennett (SF/PF)

neither are top 3 talents but will most likely end up in the first round.

I hope we give this year's pick away. Yeah, people are saying it's the shittiest draft for a long time.

while it may be true the Raptors are only picking a couple players out of 100 available players. as long as our picks are quality i could care less about the others. could end up with the only star player.

The draft was supposed to be shitty when the Cavs got Kyrie Irving, and he's pretty frickin' good.

Actually, the draft that year was looked at as a good draft top 7-8, but just not a deep draft.

That's why I said we should attempt to get our pick back and I can't see presti letting it go. However, to say we'll only be getting a second round pick for Lowry is bit too extreme.

i pretty sure, that we will lose our pick this year, 4-19 is much much worse than our expectations before the season started, but there are still 60 games and i even pessimistically seen, i can't see it getting even worse, which means that it will get better even if it'll be slightly; i think okc will get our pick, maybe at the 5/6th spot, that pretty realistic

People said last year's draft was weak outside of Anthony Davis. So what does TO get for not following Operation Tank? They miss out on the chance to draft Damian Lillard.

It was looked at as a strong draft actually, especially top 10.
