If we were to trade Bargnani, what would be a realistic trade scenario? - Page 8

I can guess that you'll find more people in Lithuania who understand basketball well than in India, despite the drastic population difference.
I once caught a glimpse of a bollywood film about a girl basketball prodigy. A scene where she shows off her moves to the coach 1on1, double dribbling with flat hands and getting to what appeared to be a 6ft basket, lmao

My try would go to Houston.

I don't know if they would be interested in Getting Andrea, but I think it would work for both teams.

Rox would get Bargs and we would go for 2 of 4 listed. D-Mo, Patterson, T.Jones and R.White.

We would add two young bigs with great potential and could tank for the top 3 pick. Oh and D-Mo might be still soft, but I think he has better low post skills than Bargs already.

Why do we need 2 more bigs on this team when we have Amir, JV, Davis, and Gray exactly?

Houston wouldn't do that trade and if it were to happen it'd have to be a 3-way deal to remove some PFs on the team but however

the trade value of Calderon is too much. we can get decent player/pick with his expiring contract.

Barg + Kleiza for Gasol would work.
I've been watching Gasol these days and realized he is REALLY slow.
He will probably lose more minutes under D'antoni's System.
His D in pick&roll situation is simply as bad as Barg.
But his post moves and rebounding skills are still there.

I still can't believe our best rebounder (by stats) is Kyle Lowry, the second smallest guy in the entire roster. JV will start grabbing more rebounds as he plays more minutes, but it is simply pathetic to watch Lowry grabbing more rbds than our starting PF.

That being said, if we swap Barg and Pau, we're eventually paying extra $10M for his post moves and rebounding skills, which is not bad at all.

Lowry-DD-Fields-Gasol-Val lineup is simply better.

He enjoyed his best years as a pro there, they had their most success in recent years when he was the back end of their 1-2 combo with D.Will. In that proposal,Calderon is No D.Will but a good compliment to a low post big man as a pass first point guard. Yes,I do know he was there before. I stated that in my trade break down, smh! Also, they wanted to keep him but he opted to sign with the Bulls,if anything he may not wanna go back but the Jazz would probably love to pair him with Al Jefferson and have Boozer help mold Kanter & Favors(who aren't ready to start yet)

I could careless about the Jazz anyway,I like it for TO because they get a decent SF in Deng!

I could care less about a post, but I do like the proposal. If you were the one to present it,I'd still think its a good one. It just so happened to be myself who thought of it,but its less about me and more about the trade.

All the other trade proposal's are not realistic. The first one I proposed seems complicated at a glance but it makes sense for all parties

LA's looking to move Gasol,Chicago would like to move Boozer, all those Jazz guys are expiring's that likely won't return. Bargnani needs a change of scenery. LA wanted to move MWP for years now. Ross is a good trade chip,Jose's an expiring. There's not one player in that deal a team wouldn't or shouldn't be moved.

I think you need caldy in there to make up the salary.

Regardless Pau would be a good fit. He is a great high post passer, he doesn't venture to far from the paint. he also up grades our front court rotation.

His speed is an issue but comparatively its not a drastic shift. And watching the game last night it is absolute waste having that guy play the role he is playing for the lakers right now. He has very little spacing and so few touches.

if we needed Salary filler, we can always send garbage players like Kleiza, Gray, etc.

Calderon would definitely be traded to those teams that need temporary starting PG. I was actually watching Ariza as a candidate for Calderon trade. Wall is out of injury and their current PGs are just pathetic as starter.

Having Gasol on this team would be a whole new story. If I remember correctly, we do not have a true "Veteran" player in the team. No one has ever reached to even Conference Final in playoff. Total # of championship rings for all players in the lineup = 0.

Having a true veteran player in the team would sort out all the noises about "leadership" crap that we are lacking atm.

The Lakers are NOT,I repeat NOT giving up Gasol if Bargnani is the prized return player.

not saying a straight one for one trade but as a basis of a trade how about AB for Derrik Favors

Favors- think about the young roster we would have, if they can grow together we could have a beast line up/ and a all great hustle squad. I think it can be a bigger deal but as a basis that would be great. IMO

With D'antoni serving as head coach, Barg will be a better fit than Pau in Lakers system.

this is why jose would have to be there. Both of them would be a great fit for the lakers. the are desperate for three point shooting. And Barg's skill set is almost ideal for what they are try to accomplish spacing wise. And Calderon is a steady hand for a team who is going to continue to struggle with turn overs. THe main issue is that the role gasol is playing right now could easily be filled with a player with a small percentage of his skill set. THe lakers don't need tobe paying 20 million for it.

I whole heartedly agree, and I think Gasol can work in TO too BUT the Lakers aren't giving up Gasol for Bargnani + Calderon + fillers from the Raps when they could fetch more for Pau. I think if TO includes a third and maybe foruth team its possible, but then one of those teams would want Pau too.
