If we were to trade Bargnani, what would be a realistic trade scenario? - Page 5

Neither is a great rebounder but Aldridge is better at it and also at scoring. IMO they both suck as defenders.
Portland can use Jose as a backup PG. Memphis already has one in Bayless...

i would be happy with a late first round pick.. you can't have Bargs on a winning team, far to inconsistent, can't rebound despite being seven feet. He has no value.. He may play well next game, but then will have five bad games in a row to offset that one good game.

I don't mind trading Andrea for Granger. But I think they might want to re-sign David West. With Paul George better suited for the 3 spot, something like a Terrence Ross and Jose Calderon for Granger could work. Terrence Ross would be a good fit with their defensive philosophy and compete to be their future SG. They also get a good back up PG in Jose.

A backup PG is not worth swapping your best player for a player of lesser value and also trading your starting SG for a prospect who has shown very little imo.

I never said it was worth it. I said its more realistic than your Memphis proposal.

Interesting analysis, given that the Pacers had the 5th best record in the NBA last year. Now, with Granger out of the lineup, the Pacers are struggling to play .500. His ability to score takes a lot of pressure off his teamates, and he's not a bad defender, either.

If anything, a person should be concerned about Granger's knees giving out. He has managed to dodge that bullet for so long. Gotta wonder if this year's injury is foreshadowing a major problem in the future. Having said that, I'd still gladly included Bargs in a package to get Granger; it's worth the risk.

I would never trade Bargs and Calderon for Maggette and Stuckey.

A horrible game, capping off a below par start to the season, ad I'm already seeing trade Bargnani for Okafor or Maggette?

Like seriously? Are you guys that stupid? I thought we wanted to get better and actually start winning games?! Yesterday's game was in fact horrible, but Andrea can only go up from here, last year showed what Andrea is capable of, and I for one hold on to the belief that if the Raptors are to get anything out of this season, besides another high lottery pick, we need to put aside this ridiculous notion of trading our best player, for trading sake. Because here are the facts, unless we can get a player who scores a cenet amount of points in return, our offense will almost instantly become one of the, if not the worst in the league - regardless of what happened in the San Antonio game, Andrea is better than shooting 2-18; and Ed Davis will not take Toronto to the promise land.

i'm so sick of hearing and talking about bargnani, waiting for him to realize his talent, some nights he plays great and then there is nights like this

i think Raptors fans can't stand the talk anymore, i think andrea is done, not because he is a bad player but i think he finally burned all the bridges this year

i still think he is a good player and is worth his contract which not all players are but toronto is poisen for him

i'm just waiting for bc,casey to get fired or andrea to get traded, one of these things is goign to happen within the next month or so, maybe during january

This deal was approved on ESPN Trade Machine, which means that all players are eligible to be dealt at the moment and the contracts/salaries match.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=cwp8v7a

Raptors Acquisitions
Loul Deng -
•get a much needed bonafied starting SF
Marquis Teague -
•a young, cheap back up point guard who could be groomed into a starter if Lowry leaves after next season

Lakers Acquisitions
Andrea Bargnani
• Will mesh well with fellow Italian, coach Mike D'Antoni, could come off the bench as an offensive spark or be a good inside/outside compliment to Dwight Howard.
•Will fit well with Steve Nash, who likes big men who could shoot 3's (ex. Channing Frye)
Paul Millsap
•a gritty PF who can start or sub. Is an expiring contract.
Raja Bell
•pesky defender, who already has interest from LA and has played with Nash under D'Antoni. An expiring
Mo Williams
•a former all star combo guard who has a lot of playoff experience.
•another expiring contract player, who'll free up space to resign Howard if they don't try to keep Williams.

Bulls Acquisitions
Pau Gasol
•expensive, but very valuable low post player with a solid championship pedigree.
•great compliment to Derrick Rose and first option while Rose is out
Ron Artest
•former Bull who adds more defense to coach Tom Thibadeau's defensive system.
Terrence Ross
•great shooting guard prospect who could learn a lot from veteran Richard Hamilton to maximize his potential
•athletic player who's good defensive ability suits Thibadeau's system

Jazz Acquisition
Carlos Boozer
•Get a player who him and the team shared their most success in recent years together.
• Good compliment to young players Enes Kanter and Derrick Favors
Jose Calderon
•Better pass first point guard than Mo Willams and Jamal Tinsley, who'll compliment Boozer very well.
•is an expiring contract who could be resigned for a good price if he and the team meshes well.

Toronto: Wilson Chandler, Derrick Williams

Minnesota: Bargnani, Raps 2nd

Denver: Kleiza, Amundson

I still say sign Pietrus:

Lowry/Calderon/JL3
Derozan/Ross/Fields
Chandler/Pietrus/Williams
Williams/Davis/Amir/Acy
Valanciunas/Amir/Gray

Not sure if Minnesota could do this since they be absorbing about 4mil.

I very much doubt we could get Danny Granger, but if that deal presented itself I would laugh my way to the bank with it. Sadly, if Rob Babcock wasn't such a dumbass we could have had Granger as a Raptor.

On the subject of Bargnani's value, I don't think it's very high at all. Looking at the Raptors right now sitting at 3-11 or whatever our record is as people are reading this post, we're not winning with him and whatever we get for him likely won't help us win either. Let's just try and free up a) some play time for JV and Ed Davis and b) clear some cap or get someone the coach won't feel obligated to play 40 minutes no matter how poorly he's playing for the day.

Uhhhh... believe me, I KNOW that Bargs isn't a winning player lol.... something about Granger just doesn't sit well with me is all.

Besides... why use would IND have for him with Hibbert there and them probably looking to re-sign West?

Bargnani for Ersan Ilyasova. He makes similiar money, and is struggling this year too. He is probably struggling because he is adjusting to two ball hogs (Jennings and Ellis). He is probably expendable with the emergence of rookie Henson. He call perfectly fit with his perimter game, can rebound and play defense, and play small ball if the opponent's puts a SF at the foward position. He's only 25 years old, and can be part of the core moving forward.

-Lowry, Ross, Derozan, Ilyasova, and Val.
