If we were to trade Bargnani, what would be a realistic trade scenario? - Page 18

"Forget" in what sense? We're talking about trades. Why would the Hornets trade Lopez for Bargnani? New Orleans already has Ryan Anderson, who is a cheaper, more efficient, better rebounding stretch 4.

Likely another reviled player on so-so contract. Pau's giant expiring next year is probably the ultimate prize. If his knees are shot and or he pouts, even better... for the sake of tank.

As to why... it's a loss in assets, but Pau is an upgrade for their system. Think Vlade Divac and 2002 Kings.
If they are focused on getting better now and don't want to give Pekovic a huge long deal this summer, it makes sense.

If you're sending Minny both Bargnani and Calderon, which amounts to roughly $20 mill in salary, then the T-Wolves have to send out more. Something like Pekovic, Ridnour (or Barea), Williams, and Roy. I don't see them doing that.
Do it in a heartbeat.

Andrea Bargnani is one of the most unique players in NBA history. A 7-foot jump shooter with some ball skills and decent quickness, he's a confounding player for both good and bad. Few bigs space the floor like he does, with a quick-trigger line-drive release and a devastating show-and-go move. Still fewer have rebounded this poorly or been as genially permissive at the defensive end. And nobody, ever, has effectively used a jab step move off the wrong foot like this.

This team could easily be fixed with two realistic trades, first

1.) Toronto Out: Jose Calderon,Linas Kleiza
Toronto In: Danny Granger

Indiana Out: Danny Granger,David West
Indiana In: Pau Gasol, Linas Kleiza

Los Angeles Out: Pau Gasol
Los Angeles In: David West,Jose Calderon

Approved NBA Trade Machine - ESPN
Toronto gets rid of an expiring and under utilized player, receives a legit SF.

2.) Toronto Out: Andrea Bargnani
Toronto In: Freddy Garcia, Thomas Robinson

Sacramento Out: Freddy Garcia.Thomas Robinson
Sacramento In: Andrea Bargnani

Approved NBA Trade Machine - ESPN
Toronto gets a bonafied low post prospect in Robinson, also a bad but an expiring contract for next season in Garcia.

Lowry/Lucas(meh)
DeRozan/Ross/Fields
Granger/Garcia/Pietrus
Robinson/Davis/
Valanciunas/Johnson

Injured Reserves: Gray,Acy,Anderson

3.) In the off season amnesty Amir Johnson then let Pietrus and Anderson come off the books(save nearly 8 million). Sign a better back up point guard and a couple role players. Draft the best player available If OKC doesn't get the pick.

well i don't understand why the Raptors don't put him on the elbow more like last year, you rarely see him there,

but oh well i want to see dealt anyways, Raptors just need to move forward,

i want the Raptors to clean house

fire the gm, fire the coach, hire a new scouting staff,

bargnani, lowry, calderon, derozan, these 4 guys have to many holes to win with or become a real playoff team,

draft picks would be nice or a 1st or 2nd year player

jonas and ross should be the focus, developing there games quickly, quite frankly i would rather see ross take more shots that watchign pietrus, klieza, and derozan take shots

i

I like that first one. Though this basically means tanking for a top 3 pick this year, i guess. But still, what's there to lose. I think LA would do it, I like it a lot for Toronto, not sure about Indiana.
I think Indiana might do it IF George and Lance Stephenson keep playing the way he's been playing last week or so AND they are absolutely sure that Pau will get healthy. Otherwise, I really doubt it. I think they'd much rather have David West over an unhealthy Pau.

#2 doesn't look realistic.

It would take the most to convince Indiana to agree to the trade because they're surrending two of their most recognizable players and former all stars. David West is an upcoming UFA so they should want to get something for him.if they don't plan on resigning him or believe he will. Like you mentioned they have George and Stephenson has emerged,in addition they signed Gerald Green this past summer. Granger may be damaged goods at a high price,so that might make them wanna deal him. Once Pau gets fully healed,he and Hibbert would be a crazy low post duo, especially since Gasol can pass a lot better than West.

The second deal is possible, between Cousins,Hayes,Thompson,Robinson the Kings have too many low post bigs,Bargnani adds a new dimension with his floor spreading abilities. Garcia has a terrible contract they will want to get rid of.

Well, here's one no one has tabled yet--probably for good reason. Bargs for Michael Kidd- Gilchrist, Gerald Henderson and Reggie Williams. Why Charlotte would do this, I have no idea. But, you never know the inner workings of the mind of the great Michael Jordan, owner and proprietor. Now, this is all about Kidd-Gilchrist, but the other parts could fill in on a rebuilding team.
