I see him being more Pau and Aldridge than Noah.... maybe even a bit of Marc Gasol, who has really surpassed what I ever thought he'd become.

Sorry, did not realize that I was using a common Lithuanian phrase, that might not have a meaning in English... When a player has a habit of charging a wall of defenders, smashing into them and trying to score a circus shot, we say that such a player is "climbing a tree". Our national team PG is known for tree climbing.

Do people really want to do the Gasol/Blake for Bargnani/Calderon?

Pau is having his worst offensive season on his career(FG% and PPG), and Blake is..Blake. I'd prefer to use those assests to get

a) An impact SF
b) 1st rounder

I would really look at trying to get Wilson Chandler + 1st (20th or so for) for Bargnani + filler or our 2nd rounder. Not sure how much an impact Chandler is but he's a good defender, decent offensively and has a reasonable contract.

As a starter in NY, he averaged 16 ppg. I'd do that trade.

And if Gasol was beasting right now the Lakers would tell us to F-off if we even asked about him lol.... that's why it's a good trade for both sides. Each team has a player that's underperforming currently, but could easily flourish in a new role on a new team.

I honestly think that this is the best trade out there to be made TBH. It would give us TWO borderline all-stars in Lowry and Pau and a we'd still have DD and Jonas as well.

That's a core that you can build around.

i like this.

i want to be leaf that fields was really injured as an excuse for his terrible play. hopefully he comes back playing like he has something to prove.

i think ross would be great as a 6th man. kinda like a JR Smith type player.

I would rather take Gasol, who not only can contribute right away, but more importantly with his contract coming off the books after 2013, it actually gives us sufficient space to go after a legitimate player.
gasol will contribute less to this team than bargnani, on a higher contract. we will be much worse off with gasol at this point in his career than bargnani. watch, Bargs goes to L.A, and turns into bargz. we'll all then call for BC's head, when really he was just reading some of your foolish posts.

we already have three borderline all stars in DD, lowry, and bargnani, and a future HoF in JV (no pressure kid). according to raptor123 we have 2 future hall of famers, in JC and JV

we're set guys. we'll be winning everything from now on!

So, basically you don't deal Bargs because the other team could improve. In LAL he'd be the 3rd option on offense, playing with the 2nd sg ever, the best C in the nba and although 38, a hall of fame worthy PG. So, basically you don't want to deal Bargs cuz he may look good on a team where it's suited to his capabilities because he'll look good there. So, we have to get the 2nd best sg of all time to play here and the best C in the current nba. Let's keep trying to attain those players so Bargs looks good.

Pau > Bargs, plain and simple.

Capwise, as has been discussed Blake/Pau for Jose/Bargs, Raps take on 3.4-3.5 million (in total), not horrible. Also, do you really want to see BC take on another mediocre wing for an overpaid salary in the summer because that's what the "significant" capspace (that will be gained) from jose expiring will lead to.

How you see that:

Chicago gets Monta Ellis and Kleiza.
Toronto gets Deng, Gooden and Udrih (7 M$ expiring)
Milwaukee gets Bargnani and Calderon.

Lowry-Udrih
DD-Ross
Deng-Pietrus
Gooden-Ed
Val-Amir

Get Gooden isnīt a bussines, but I think that it would be necessary to be the trade realistic.

We're not getting any of them for Bargnani. The only way we get Deng is if we send a large package that includes Calderon's expiring and take Boozer's monstrosity of a contract.

Toronto: Boozer, Hinrich, Deng (32Mil)

Chicago: Bargnani, Calderon, Amir, Kleiza (31Mil)

I still don't think they touch that deal with a ten foot pole.

Lowry/Robinson/JL3
Derozan/Ross/Fields
Deng/Pietrus/Anderson
Boozer/Davis/Acy
Valanciunas/Gray/Vet min?

I would do this in a heartbeat to be honest, but i can't see it happening from Chicago's POV.

I doubt that CHI makes any significant moves until they get Rose back so they can evaluate how he is.
