I'm also looking forward to seeing them play together but for a different reason. If anyone has seen vids of JV you can tell immediately that the guy has a motor for days - exactly what Bargs lacks. Once we get him over here and everyone sees how hard he works, I think it will bring something out in Bargs. It might be jealousy of his skill or a fear of getting replaced by him, shit it might even make for the best intra-team rivalry he's ever been a part of (he really has never had someone who would go at him in the competitive yet friendly way you only can when you have shared experiences with someone). But it will definitely bring out something in him, something that I think will translate into a hell of a lot more motivation to keep himself ahead of JV.

perso :

i would trade barg in the draft night to get another lottery pick and a young SF talent (trade with portland would be nice)
You trade Ed & Amir & you draft Davis end of story.

No.

Why? Because we know what we have in Bargs, we wouldn't know what we have in Davis. What if he becomes a 'bust'? What if he gets injured in the pre-season?

It would afford you the luxury of easing Davis and really have him compete for minutes against Bargs and even Ed. I could envision where Amir becomes more of a back up five with Val getting small minutes. I wouldn't make any decisions until the trade deadline (when teams get really desparate) or the following year after evaluating the talent.

Of course the likelihood of this happening is what 10%?

A.Davis is simply too good of a prospect to not start once he's drafted. With Bargs still here I don't think that will happen, so Ed and Amir are pretty irrelevant. Sure them being traded will open up minutes for him, but with JoVal coming in, and AD possibly coming in, i think the frontcourt of Jonas/Davis is better than a Jonas/Bargs frontcourt.

Bigs bang hard and big miss games. A big man rotation of JV, a veteran, Bargnani and Davis is do-able.....especially since Davis is still growing into his body. I think having Andrea here until we find out what Davis is in the NBA is fine. Bargnani is very moveable later anyway if you need to.

If there is a glut at power forward, move some pieces that have less impact.

And for all those who love Ed Davis' potential, what number pick in this draft does Ed Davis plus 2 second rounders get? Would that be in J. Lamb country?

But is Ed and 2 seconds worth about a 12th pick? Then you should still have several options.

If the right offer is on the table. A better question is, if we get the first pick and assuming Bargnani continues to be completely inconsistent, when does Bargs lose his starting job?

that wouldn't be very smart, it's better to trade him than to bench him

I think that Bargnani is a good complement to both JV and AD and it would be very difficult to start those two together (or in a combination with Amir/ED). Long term, it's pretty clear that JV/AD would be the front court of the future (wow), so as soon as the right deal comes along, AB should be traded.

Now, if I was the GM and I had a long term contract, I would absolutely trade AB (along with Jose, Demar and Amir), for picks if possible, or for young players. I would willing tank one more year and draft another very high pick to fill the wing or PG position. We could have 3 very, very good young players in their 1st or 2nd season and therefore ours for at least 3 more years at bargain basement pricing.

We could add 2 max players to that core and still be under the cap. And with such a strong core, it would be quite a plausible scenario that max-level FA are willing to join us.

Just try to imagine a team with 5 players, all of them potential HOFers It would make Miami Heat seem like an average collection of stars. And we would have that core for a decade, barring injuries or some other misfortunes. Backed by the financial might of Rogers and Bell, it could conceivably be the best team of all times

Sure as hell don't trade him for the sake of trading him. just as now, you would have to get a better player back.

And Bargs/raps had more to play for than he does right now before he was hurt.

I would get AD first and see how the overall players fit. No urgency in trading Bargs during the draft ... Drafting is an educated guess at best, unless you have a Lebron in the mix.

Plus how many AB's are there in this league?
