Ok hear me out. The raps for as long as i have watched have been suffering because they have not had a big guy in the paint that can intimidate. We had bosh, but he was/still soft as shit. Now we have Bargs listed as a "C" but he plays PF leaving Amir and Davis to get raped in the paint. Some how some way if BC gets his hand on a big mean mother fucker to clog the lane, then our D will improve. This team already can score, we just need a legit big. Now i'm not asking for a D12 kind of guy, but a guy like kendrick Perkins or Tyson Chandler could do wonders for this team. We get that guy in as C and we have a very deep front court. Stop with all the Bargs hate. He is a soft Euro player, accept that and move on.

Yeah, i know we still won't have "that guy" but we can win 45-50 games if we just get that big to clog the paint and have an OK O (i love ya reggie but you make my eyes bleed sometimes). Bargs moves to PF and we don't get abused by other Cs because we play undersized guys there. The team is young and can run out and score (increased with block shots/lane intimidation).

First of all, welcome to you good sir.

Second of all, the dude can't just be a Joel Anthony. He can't be a liability on offense.

Good post,

Unfortunately defense is a team effort. You can't put 1 defensive centre surrounded by 4 pylons and expect to be much better. There has to be more than one good defender in the starting lineup.

Yeah i know i said not some guy who is very one dimensional like reggie. Thats why i wanted Tyson Chandler or if we can get a guy like Perks who can give you 10 + points 12+boards and 2+block shots.

Thanks for the welcome, and i'm here to stay. Once i join a board i'm always a regular.

Sigh... If only that trade for Tyson Chandler would have went through. I knew he'd have a monster year - being in a contract year.

He's averaging almost 10 and 10, and would have had a huge impact on this team.

If that trade went through though, we would probably be struggling at the point, still would have loved tyson chandler here

MJ is to be blame for our season lost; Damn BC why couldn't he had made a deal with Dallas during this trade; give them PJ+whatever for Tyson+whatever.

Are you saying that Bargs doesn't stay in the paint on D?
Or that Amir/Davis/Dorsey are not defensive?
Or that Raptors defensive ratings are not equally horrible in all categories?

I say blame the coach. If the lineup doesn't want to defend/contest/foul hard, change the lineup. We have the talent

Players don't defend and the team would be much better with a defensive center, but my blame goes to the coaching staff.
Look at NO. All their players (except Paul) are average, but they're top 3 on defence, and this is due to their coaching staff that from day 1 asked for defence, and benched one of their best offensive players (Thorton) 'cause he didn't defend at the level they wanted. Last game against Miami Bargs was on James and when Bargs was beaten LBJ had an highway to the basket, nobody helped, and the only time I've seen someone help he was Bayleys the shortest guy on the floor. On another play Calderon switched on James and there was no help. In conclusion some kind of players are needed but first of all we need a new coach.

I would suggest that people would start thinking that it's not about building a young team it's about starting to winning matches. Can't u see that franchises like Minny is falling apart. Kevin Love will be looking forward already to leave them and join free agent market. I believe the same willl be with DD, with John Wall, few young guys from the clippers. And when u think like that, that sucks

I hoped too that even if we have a losing season with an inexperienced roster, at least we don't repeat last years achievement of being crappiest defensive team.

On paper we should be good. Every player has shown good individual defense ability at some time. (well maybe except kleiza, haven't seen him defend anyone one on one)
But team defense just falls apart, who to blame? Last year it was "poor chemistry", this year blame it on injuries?

I think otherwise, the only one there with real defensive talent is Davis.

I'd say Ed Davis is a good defender, he's just a bit thin for his spot. Joey Dorsey would be great if he had a better offense and was a few inches taller.

defensively Hump is garbage.... he's developed into a nice bench big, but nobody here was telling him to stop chucking so much like he's been told in NJ. It's nice to see guys finally accept their role, just wish it would happen more often while they're here.

I've liked Chris Kaman, he might be available. Too bad he's injured now, but he's a 20/10 (when healthy) guy.

It would be great to bring back Matt Bonner, he would be great off the bench.

Kleiza, Weems, Calderon, and a few others should be on the way out.

seriously wtf is with majority of toronto fans obsessing over a saviour for this team, one piece cant solve a puzzle thats not close to being finished.

edit:

and for anyone using the "look at OKC" argument, a team like that does not become like that in 2 seasons, no quality team does, the rebuilding process started during the final ray allen years. BC is just starting that stage now, and for everyone that thinks firing him would be good, think about the fact that letting him go would just start this team all over again with more frustrations because a new person with a new vision taking the reins.

Winning 45 games is no by means having a saviour. I'm just saying that if we bring a guy like tyson chandler we can fucking stop SOME of the loosing so that guys like DD don't play half asses because they feel like this team is going no where. We need to get a franchise PG and go from there. Also, we have to replace the coaching staff. They suck major dick and seem soft as butter.
