Then the raps should have another really good pick in 2012, that draft is looking stacked already and it looks like even a 7-10 picks could be an impact players. Does anyone know if they average out the last three season records? how do they determine the 2012 draft if the lockout goes all season?

No one knows, the NBA probably won't have a plan until after the season is canceled. I think they have something a little more important to work on like that whole Collective Bargaining Agreement thing.

If we do get two good picks in a row, then the lockout may just be a blessing in disguise. But knowing our luck, it probably won't happen.

That's an interesting point, I would like to know the answer as well. If it ends being another high pick, then it surely is a blessing in disguise as ha123 said

I'd rather have us not having a lockout. All of our prospects would miss a whole regular season of games, which isn't a good thing if they are still young and learning. There's always practice, but the real games are just as important for developement. Even if there isn't a lockout, the Raptors would still finish close to the bottom of the standings for next season and get another top 10 pick.

A lockout is going to be a complete disaster for the Raptors developing players... Such as Davis

Davis needs to hit the weight room ... and the Raptors training staff is not allowed to have any communication with any player as per the Lockout rules...

If this draft is as deep as people say, I expect more than 7-10 good players.

But yeah, if there's a lockout or a shortened season, and we end in the lottery next year it'll be great for the future. We'll have DeMar, Ed, top 5 pick this year, and lotto pick next year. Definitely a base for a good team.

I spoke to an NBA agent about the possibility of a lockout and he said it's almost a certainty; however, it's hard to predict how long it will go on for.

Like he said, players don't start missing pay checks until November, and owners will have felt the pain of a drop in season ticket holders by then, too. That's when the sides will really start seeing eye to eye.

As a fan, I'd hate to see a lockout go on for the whole season. Sure, watching a bad team sucks... but it's better than not having anyone to watch. And sure we may benefit from no games played, but most likely we won't. I'd rather see what the team can do and go into the offseason with a plan than add on players to a team that hasn't played any games together.

some good points on here, main one being our young players need the game-time. You could see improvements literally game by game this season. Also, gotta say for basketball in general a lost season would be very depressing. We shouldn't be selfish because it may benefit us (which i don't even think it really would.)

Having an entire year with no playing time is not beneficial for anyone. Everyone on the team should goto Europe with Calderon.

Young players should go to Europe, seriously. it would help a lot. Such a player as Bayless would became a smarter playmaker.

that would make a lot of sense if there weren't so many nba teams. as it stands, if guys like bayless and players of his calibre left the nba there wouldn't be enough good talent to field 30 watchable teams. the quality is already pretty diluted.
