First off, I want to make it clear that, to my knowlege, there are no reports that this is being considered. I don't want to mislead people. I just think it's something that could happen if the Raps get lucky. The Clippers have a decent young core, a vacant small forward position, and a desire to win. I know they are looking to win soon by adding a veteran presence, because there have been multiple articles about their willingness to move the 8th pick in exchange for a vet who will help them make the playoffs right away. Since the Clippers have a lot of cap space, they are going to go after Lebron and Rudy Gay to play small forward. However, unless they get new ownership, I don't think they stand a chance in hell of landing Lebron, and other teams with higher picks will be looking to do a S & T for Rudy. So, with that in mind, why not Turko-poo? I think he complements the other 4 starters the Clippers have for next year (Kaman, Griffin, Gordon, Davis). Taking Hedo would also allow the Clips to retain birds rights on some of their other unsigned players, which makes it easier to fill out their roster than going after a FA.

Maybe this is a total pipe dream. I don't know. But duuuudes, it's the dumbass Clippers and they have a rookie GM. "Getter done, BC. Getter done!"

even with Turk I don't see tham in the playoffs (depends on PHX situation)
so I don't think they take on that kind of contract

Turkoglu might be someone a team takes on after much of the smoke has cleared from FA bonanza 2010. Someone might have missed out on Lebron or Gay and might be looking for someone with ball handling skills and creativity at a point forward position.

espn is reporting that david geffen has offered to buy a 51% stake in the clips in order to inject cash and lure lebron. sterling is not selling.

It would either have to be B-Diddy for Turkoglu + DeRozan or the Clippers would have to gut their roster and shed a bunch of middle-of-the-pack contracts.

If the Clipps want to acquire JUST Turkoglu, then they could do it another way. They have birds rights on a number of players. They could sign one of those players to a high priced one year contract and flip him for Turkoglu. It could be a straight up swap. Turk for a one year shit contract.

I could be wrong, but I think that's possible under the CBA. It would be similar to how Van Horn's birds rights were used to facillitate the Jason Kidd trade.

Getter done, BC! Getter done!

I wasn't sure, so I looked into it.

NBA Salary Cap FAQ
Edit -

Duuuude, it says only the 1st year has to be guaranteed. So, as I was saying, you sign a player to a high priced deal, and then just cut him loose after 1 year.

Getter done, BC! Getter done!

Damn, I must be high.

The funniest thing is that you would annoint a guy fresh off knee surgery, hasn't played a game in the league better than a 5-time all star and 2-time olympian who is in his prime.
