His FT is awful though. I was watching the Bucks play the Magic in the 3rd quarter of a recent game, and with about 16 minutes left in the game, Milwaukee decided to start fouling intentionally. I don't know what's worse - the coach's total lack of faith in his defense, or the fact that Dwight is such a poor shooter that it could have worked to the Bucks advantage (it didn't).
I saw Mark Jackson employ that same thing when the Magic were in Oakland & the Magic still pulled it out, so i'm not sure it's such a good plan...
Does anyone know of a game where there was a hack a Dwight that actually worked & gave that team the W?

Well, I have a feeling that the Raps would have won the last one had they started fouling Howard with about 5 minutes to go in the fourth, but we will never know.

Like if DeMar had a stat line of:

23-24ppg 5rpg 3apg & fg%.476

& everything was playing out as it is now...

We could possibly trade
AB & who ever else + our pick for Howard

That is believing that if DeMar was putting up great numbers Dwight would consider signing here...

Would DeRozan have have to have even better numbers than I listed?

Just a thought.
he could have gone 100/20/20 and we still didn't have a shot
the guy doesn't want to go to Chicago because it's not the right market for hi ... Even playing with the mvp and the very good supporting cast is not enough. NY / LA / Dallas are the only places he would go.

He'd go to Dallas, but not to Chicago?

Dude, even if Dallas lets go of all the FAs and doesn't pick up any team options, they are on the hook for $41,406,384 next season. What do you think the cap is going to be at?! Or do you envision Howard and Williams playing for $5-7 mil/year?

In fact, we would be deeper under the cap even with Calderon staying than Dallas this summer. And I'd venture to suggest that Toronto would be a much more attractive team for Howard and Williams to come to, considering Bargs' age vs. Dirk's age and what's left on Dallas' roster after Terry, Kidd, Odom, Carter and West are gone.

Well, Odom's deal is non-guaranteed, I believe he's guaranteed $5-6 million of the $8.2 million. B.Wright and S. Williams are non-guaranteed next season as well. VC is non-guaranteed next year. And if the mavs wanted to, they could make a trade to save cap space, like they did this summer by trading rudy fernandez and c.brewer for a second round pick to denver.

HoopsHype - NBA Salaries - Dallas Mavericks

See for yourself - that amount is owed to 5 players.

Hoopshype is flawed as it doesn't include non-guaranteed deals. It also doesn't include VC's deal which is nonguaranteed, same with S.Williams. Anywho, if they cut them, they are still owed $ but it doesn't count as salary towards the cap, like amnestied players. I am 70% certain. Also, they could do a deal like Beaubois+D.Jones for a first or second rounder to save $3.5 million.

(PS: hoopsworld > hoopshype; nbadraftexpress>nbadraft.net) Shamsports is pretty good too.

OK, so what you appear to be saying is that Dallas will have even less cap-space?

Nowitzki + Marion + Haywood are owed near 40 mil!

$37,652,492.00 between the 3 of them + yes, amnestying Haywood is a possibility.

So, you've dumped the other two somehow, you ensured that non-guaranteed are not counting against the cap - how much are you offering Howard and Williams? 5-6 mil below market value?

They did dump 2 players via trade this past offseason - R.Fernandez + C.Brewer for a second rounder. Not impossible. Nonguaranteed deals are different from buyouts. I'll give you the ultimate source on the cba (although it could be the old one, but I assume buyouts and non-guaranteed deals have not changed) -
