If Nash doesn't sign BC should get fired

If Nash goes to Dallas and New York ends up not matching, we've just wasted valuable cap space for a scrub. BC has made plenty of short sighted moves before and has gotten the benefit of the doubt. This should be the final straw.

If the above scenario plays out, no excuses, BC should get fired immediately. I hope this is what happens. Either way if Nash does sign we've wasted a ton of capspace + more for a crap additions.

I just know you'll end up quoting 80% of his posts and beating him down, so I'll see enough from you ;)

hitman67 07-03-2012 02:24 PM

This is a huge risk on his part. Let's see how it pans out.

And as much as I like the guy, if Nash ends up signing elsewhere he's as good as gone and I think he knows that (hence why he's taking this risk)

They've offered the most money, most term, job after retirement.

Not sure what else BC could have done more. If Nash doesn't come he wasn't that serious about coming here to begin with.

Stupid thread!

If BC didn't sign Fields to a big offer sheet and Nash wouldn't come here, we could have passed it off or lived with it.

Stupid thread

hitman67 07-03-2012 02:39 PM

How is it a stupid thread? IF we signed Fields to help our chances at getting Nash and we don't end up getting Nash afterwards then it's easy to argue that BC f-ed up. He didn't just offer Nash all that stuff you mentioned (and for the record, we don't know for sure what was offered either) but he also made other mediocre moves to try and get him here.

it DOES improve our chances of getting nash and fields is a good player, can't criticise it.

BC has done everything possible to get nash.

It's difficult to say how big of a risk it is when we don't know what BC actually knows. On its face it looks potentially a bit dangerous but we've really got to see how everything else rounds out.

As @ekoreen also mentioned, Raps love Fields regardless of Nash. High on him for a long time. Fits system perfectly if he regains form

I'm sure getting Fields was not just for Nash. Raptors like Fields and that is why he will be in Toronto. If it helps with Nash that is just an extra bonus!

hitman67 07-03-2012 02:45 PM

Does Fields really fit our roster though? Unless BC is planning on trading Demar or Ross, I don't think Fields fits. IF BC manages to pull of a Demar trade that lands us someone like Gay then I'm all for it but at this point it's hard to say whether this makes sense.

The other possibility is that maybe BC plans to lure Lin here if Nash falls through which means having Fields on the roster is definitely a plus.

How does playing with Melo ruin your FT % exactly?

LilRomeo 07-03-2012 02:47 PM

Should not it be the other way around? Nash ain't gonna help us get to the playoffs. BC just want Nash to sign to improve the attendance. Heck, this season we're 17th and we're around 9th a few years back.

BC is just doing some PR move. From Triano the 1st Canadian NBA Head Coach, and now this...

Nash -- hero comes home! lol

Wow!!! This would steal the hearts and wallet of Torontonians!!!

Superjudge 07-03-2012 02:49 PM

Funny, a year ago everyone was all over this new guy Fields...now we have him potentially, and people are pissed. WTF has JJ or Derozan done that makes them so valuable????

Trust me, this team has so many trade assets and amnesty scenario's now, they will come out ahead regardless
