BC has hinted he would like to bring Marion back, and apparently that he would like to bring back guys like Parker, Graham, etc. (I haven't seen the latter, but I've seen mention of it on this and other forums). If he doesn't give the roster an overhaul, will you still remain a fan? Not just a fan, but a devoted fan who watches every game religiously? I don't know if I can do it. BC just doesn't get it. The Raptors are a BAD team. It's not injuries, it's not coaching changes. It's not "changing styles" mid-season. They're a bad team period. Unless they get EXTREMELY lucky and draft a major high-impact player in the draft, I don't see how essentially the same roster could make the playoffs next year either.

I'm still going to be a fan and I'll try to watch every game I can.... for at least the 1st quarter. If they're getting slaughtered, I'll turn the game off as usual.

But the team obviously needs a major overhaul. The only players I really want back next year are Ukic and possibly Marion depending on how he plays the remainder of the season.

BC is a dynamic guy. If he believes some players just aren't working out then he'll do something about. But it takes time and patience to evaluate the situation and determine what player(s) can be replaced and with whom.

BC doesn't seem to be the kind of guy who stands pat unless he really believes in what he's got. I'm willing to privilege Brian Colangelo's opinions about NBA players over my own gut reactions, at least for the time being.

I've been a registered member on these forums for a week now and I'm totally disgusted with the amount of people that think the team is a joke. The first 17 games of the season under Sam Mitchell when we were 8-9 can be considered the only stretch as a complete unit, with an entire roster in check. Its overly obvious to me, and completely blows my mind that no one here can see the fact that a large portion of our losses can be chalked up to personnel changes and injuries. If someone can get these guys on the same page I see no reason why after some rest and a solid training camp we wont be back in the playoffs next season.

SA had Parker out for a while and Manu was out for a month and know he's going to be out for another 3 weeks. They still manage to win.

Houston always has injury problems, they still manage to make the playoffs

Injuries have only been a problem for Caldy. Bosh has missed 6 games, Bargs has played every game and so has most of the team. Hump has been out but he is not the 'key' to the team success.

I don't disagree.

However there are also some motivation issues you really hope aren't inherent, and can be changed.

I think this same team, with a high draft pick and couple of additions can make some noise next year. Even now this team is not as bad as their record shows. When the season goes wrong it seems like everything you do does not work out.

This team is so flawed it's not even funny any more... if they stay together all they will do is continue to suck... there is not a person with spine or pride in that locker room just bunch of soft, spoiled losers.

I will always be a fan but if BC doesn't adress our needs next year the Raps fans, including me, will want his head

This team is not that far off of getting back into play-off contention.
But, there are glaring issues with this roster and the way they play the game.
The Raps need at least two players:
A low post starting calibre player who can defend, rebound, set screens and provide interior toughness. This team was horrible at rebounding last year and nothing has changed. With Bosh and Bargs style of game (perimeter/high post) there's never anyone under the damn basket to do the dirty work. The combination of those two pansies will NEVER get it done.
And:
A new 2 guard who can create his own shot, get to the basket and defend his position a little bit. The Raptors lack of athleticism and penetrating ability has taken away their ability to get open shots. They are desperate for some creativity. Parker just can't cut it as a starter anymore and all this talk about Delfino proves that Raptors fans (and management) have short memories. That guy is not the answer.

I'm hopeful that BC also recognizes these deficiencies and has a solid plan to implement necessary changes this off-season. I'm also doubtful that he can/will address these needs. He seems married to the idea of the "Killer B's" and bringing back Delfino.

Regardless, I'll still watch. I always have.

There doesn't have to be wholesale changes for me, but at least some addressing of what is wrong and a sense of a blueprint. That's minimum.

Bring back Marion/Graham, yes!

But AP/Jawai, no! And to top it off trade Krapono, Banks,Humphries!

The fact is, if he wants to keep Marion and Bosh he better make some upgrades at the SG spot and get a bench! And i for one thinks that BC will makes the nessesary changes this summer.

Brian Colangelo will go for broke this summer in his efforts to keep Bosh/Marion here! And bring in a coach who has a Fuckin' clue out there!

BC only hints at it being somewhat the same because he doesnt want to tip his hand to the media what his plans are nor close the door on Marion if he actually did fit.

And if we can go through 5 years straight of punishment watching the bullshit on the floor after the big contracts offseason with Grunwald we can handle this. It hurts though.

bringing back the same team with a smart draft, usage of the MLE and picking the right coach could easily change the culture of this team.
