How'd you figure? They both have about the same head coaching experience in the NBA and otherwise extensive basketball resume's. Neither has shown to be a standout over the other in their time as NBA head coaches. Flip a coin i say... but i'd still rather a more experienced, disciplinarian style coach.

Ugh, if they re sign Triano I'm going to be so fucking pissed. We're like the Clippers east without all of the choking and talent if that happens. Just keep continuing on the treadmill.

BC needs to start over. Get a proven head coach with a ton of experience. Whether its the Russian guy or Saunders, who cares.

Go out in free agency or in trades and get some veteran rotation players. And lastly, go out and get the guard/forward we need so desperately, whether you have to give up Bargs or not.

I'm with you, except for the last part. But, triano certainly has to go.

i'd like to see PJ here as an assistant...
this team needs a fire lit under their asses, and needs to get angry.
if PJ can get Spree to choke his ass, im sure he has some fire in him to get these players pissed. and thats exactly what these underachiever's need.

I've actually been pretty happy with some of the stuff he's been doing. They've shown the ability to convert some defense to offense, and dictate how the game gets played for more than a quarter. If they keep showing improvement on defense from here on in, then I can live with JT. To me the biggest thing is getting a solid roster together. Another scoring option, some depth on the perimeter, maybe some more experience. I don't want everything being put on some noted maestro and a bit of good luck.

Sure, if we bring in a real head coach as well.

ok, can someone make a list of coaches worthy of this team and your lofty expectations as fans... we are a mediocre team at best, the perfect place for a young guy like Jay to grow... i think if we keep showing improvement at both ends of the floor, Bosh won't leave and if he does, we will deal with it... i would love to hear the names you all think would be able to step in here and make this team the contenders we all think they are...

my point was that we all talk about who isn't right for this team, but i have heard few names of candidates we think are good.... Iavaroni is not ready, PJ is a backup at best, should be back in college with guys who won't hurt him.. nice guy, but not ready for the nba... messina? he would work, but then there is NO team familiarity at this point and i suspect that BC is not willing to upset this bunch of prima donna's at this point... can you all please make a list of guys or girls that would be BETTER for this team at this point than Jay....

Flip saunders or any of the above coaches before Jay Triano. Hell i'd take Jeff Van Gundy, Avery Johnson, ball boy at the YMCA over Jay! Ok i'm kidding about the ball boy!! lol

Messina. Not sure what you meant above in your reference to him but he's probably the best guy not currently in the nba for the job and given what we've seen out of Triano I would welcome him. There are also currently unemployed head coaches that would be better suited than Jay...and have been mentioned many times.

Jay's a great basketball guy and seems like a great assistant coach but he's not showing us he can motivate these guys which is the one thing he has had plenty of time to do.

Bingo! He's a nice guy, but doesn't have the motivational skills and has bad judgement on player rotation. If a guy is on a roll, you know he'll be yanked shortly.

can anyone really motivate Jason Kapono to become anything other than a shooter at this level?

Jay has given Joey and AP a chance as well as Roko and they have responded since he has been here. Andrea Bargnani has become a solid contender for Most Improved Player and i think he should win over Devin Harris. Jamario Moon and Jermaine O'Neal were dealt for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks.. not his fault and he is trying to find Marion a place. Jose has been hurt, Bosh has been hurt, O'Neal was hurt, Hump has been hurt - any time Jake is on the floor, you know depth is a serious issue!! Pops has come in and given us a spark and Jay has done a good job managing his minutes and motivating him to play well... i don't know, as i see it, this team has been very motivated by Jay. Injuries and brutal schedules have killed this team, IMHO.

Really? I don't see that. The only reason AB is a candidate for MIP is because he took advantage of JO going down for a month. If JO stays healthy, who knows what AB is doing? Probably playing at the SF/PF/C off the bench, like he was when Jay first took over. As for giving Roko a chance, he had no choice with Solomon sucking and Jose being hurt most of the season. He's given people chances alot due to injury/necessity and some have taken advantage others have been inconsistent. But overall i don't see this team being motivated under Jay, let alone "Very" motivated, as you put it. I remember hearing Jack Armstrong last week saying that he's left games in the last few months with a sick feeling in his stomach because of the lack of energy/competetivness this team has shown.

The reason why Joey has gotten a chance is because he's not pulled after a mistake - he was allowed to work through it..and injuries have played a part in him getting more playing time. Bargs has performed better because he has a definite position, he's not all over the place.

I don't think you can blame this on the so called "brutal schedule". Some of the losses this year have been inexcusable. Meltdowns, blowouts, whatever you want to call it - those are not only a reflection of the players, but the coaches for not preparing/motivating the players well enough.

The only one I'd really take a chance on is Thibodeaux. But that would be going away from the style of play Colangelo is trying to encorporate.
