They finally decided to get rid of all these guys and started to rebuild.
They did get nice players in the draft but once again, they started to think of their cap situation to a tee.

getting rid of Bargs was step #1
Fields and Gay will take up $28 mil next season so moving one, or both, would help the cap. LK is gone next year.

Don't have anyone signed long term (3+ years) except DeRozan, Novak, JV and Ross

why take the chance? so a few fans can be happy that we got a few more games to lose in or a few places higher in the conference?

And how about the future of the PG position and SF given RG's contract?

Yup. What is the end goal - Championship or playoff fodder? I'm hoping Championship.

Exactly, and Masai has said the same thing. Hopefully he realizes what's on the table this year with the roster, and what is in this draft.

Problem is, there are 2 different arguements going on here.

1. Given they seem to want nothing to do with tanking, do you want to face the best, come out swinging and learn from it?

2. Given they seem to want nothing to do with tanking, I don't want to face the Heat. Why aren't we tanking?

Internal growth is a joke, BC tried to sell you that kool aid and you guys bought it. Gay, Lowry, and possibly DeRozan are already at their peaks. We have no cap for roster improvements on our poor ass bench without gutting this so-so starting lineup.
internal growth... you're damn right. Even Kool-Aid wouldn't drink that kool-aid.

Now maybe, but you think we're capped out for the next 5yrs? Next summer we start having a bit more flexibility and will have our biggest contract going into his final year. Ujiri can make a lot more moves starting next summer and especially the summer of 2015 which is when I believe they want to start going for it (tying into the 2016 all-star game + 20th anniversary).
