Knicks I Just Realized Who's 2nd In The Atlantic

What the hell? The Knicks are 5-3? OK, we clearly have more talent than the Knicks and they've beat some good teams too. What on earth are they doing different and can we have whatever their having right now?

Lol... maybe a coach who understands how to bring the best out of his players and utilize their strengths? The man is impressing me so far.... he's showing that it wasn't JUST about having Nash as his PG.

Another team that's just 1/2 a game behind us?

The Kings. Who have one of the WORST rosters in the whole league... yet they're 4-5.

It's actually amazing how many teams get wins with rosters much worse than ours... lol... yet people still want to blame our faults on our lack of talent.

PLEASE.

The Knicks are just trying to outscore their opponents and that's what they're doing. That's D'antoni ball. No real logic to it, just play run n' gun, don't worry about tiring yourself out on defense and try to make the playoffs and hopefully stay a mediocre team forever.

D'antoni is not a genious. Walsh deserves a lot of credit for brining in some good players and D'antoni deserves credit for sitting Starbury and Curry. That's where the credit ends.

And the Kings are playing well because they're starting 5 ain't all that bad. Hawes has been a beast, K-Mart is solid, Garcia is solid and so is Beno, also Salmons is solid. Tough starting line up with no real bench.

Our problems go much deeper than talent and until BC realizes that the COY Sam Mitchell is winging it most nights hoping his guys are smarter than him, we are stuck in mediocrity and 2010, Bosh will head to any team that is willing to commit to it's players and not hang on to a coach who can't teach or work with players and inspire them to play better than they are playing, not expecting them to be better than they are. The Knicks sat the two biggest headaches in the league and the team is suddenly winning, not much to think about there! jamario needs to go back to the floating ball in italy and Kapono needs to find a way to run faster! we are sunk until the teams in this league stop laughing at our lack of depth in the small positions.

Please tell me that you're not honestly trying to tell me that those teams have rosters that are on par with ours. : |

And how can you say that D'Antoni's scheme has no logic??

They're WINNING GAMES. Isn't that what a coach is supposed to do? If he gets the Knicks back to the playoffs he deserves COTY IMO. He can worry about making the Finals in a few years. lol.

Lol... fair enough... but admit it... I don't think that ANYONE would have picked the Knicks to be 2nd in the Atlantic right now.

We'll see how teams start to adjust to them but you have to give D'Antoni some credit for turning things around so quickly.

D'Antoni is getting the most out of his players. Randolph is back his later Portland form and just killing it.

It is IMO too. Dantoni knows how all his players play unlike Isiah did and now look Starbury and curry don't even start let alone even play a game

every team with a new coach plays their heart-out until that one thing that goes wrong that makes them all revert to their old ways. fact of life.

TO, I never said they're on par, but it shouldn't come as a surprise. They have real solid pieces. Again, it doesn't really surprise me.

Hell, Philly is 3-5. OMFG, let's fire Mo Cheeks, he's a terrible coach right? He MUST not get the most out of his players!!!!

D'antoni plays a style players love. That is just shoot the ball, run up and down and screw defence. Call me though when a D'antoni team actually does something. People want to criticize Smitch for not being a tactician, hell D'antoni makes Smitch looking like a friggin' genious.

Lol.... I will never truly understand the hate for this man.

Takes his team to multiple 60 win seasons.... wins division crowns... always in the playoffs... where they bow out to the Spurs who have been class of the whole damn NBA for YEARS. I call THAT "doing something".

You make him sound like a monkey who simply jumps up & down on the sidelines and his teams succeed in SPITE of him.

Question: If running up & down and putting the ball in the basket is so EASY then why is it always a struggle against life itself for OUR team? lol.

As for PHI... I didn't think that they were going to be that good this year. Certainly not better than us... so I guess a 3-5 start doesn't surprise me.

i think he basically just runs almost a phoenix offense in that they can shoot whenever, so they basically just throw up as many shots as possible, as well, he doesn't take crap from his players so he's benched marbury which has shortened the roster of guards and allowed players more minutes to get in a rhythm and define there roles
i think randolph has also been the only big man to play so he's not competing against curry and others for minutes

Last night they scored 132pts and were 19/34 from 3pt range??

What the Fuck, 34 shots put up from 3? These guys aren't shy about jacking it up.And lets face it most nights they won't even come close to that 59% 3Pt%.

D'Antoni's style has never been shown to be effective in the playoffs. Regular season, that's a different story.

I don't see how they could get past Dwight Howard in the playoffs. Or KG, or any other dominant big.

But, they may well squeak into the playoffs. It would be good for the franchise, even if they go one and done. Maybe that's all they're aiming for.

N.Y. isn't aiming for a title this year... or even NEXT year.... they're just trying to get back into a positive state of mind where they can COMPETE again. And it's working.

If they win 40-50 games is anyone going to say they failed because they didn't win a title?

What's the difference right now between us and them? We're certainly not better than they are offensively. And DEFENSIVELY we might just be on par lol... as sad as that is.

They may not get by ORL but hey, WE might not either lol.... bigs or no bigs.
