I just realized something.....

We have three 18pt/gm scorers on this team (DD, Lowry, Bargs).

Has that ever happened before in Raps history?

And why the FAWK can't we close out games with 3 legit options to score??? :confused2:

Because oponents cover the shit out of two and hope the other one misses. Besides this team has never been clutch. We're cursed!!

very simple.

the answer to all our struggles is very simple. ROLE DEFINITION

as you said we have 3 players who score 18 a game.

what we have to do is establish who is our 1st option, 2nd option, and 3rd option. & the guys have to buy into these roles and love their roles.

I personally believe it should go: Bargnani, Lowry, Derozan.

Not that I can remember, but they're probably losing because each player is probably averaging the least amount of points out of any quarter during the 4th (just a guess).

well put, except I would put lowry ahead of bargnani. bargnani works best when working off someone. lowry penetrates, looking to score, if he can he will, if they come to help, he dishes to bargs or derozan. so really, it should be 1) lowry, 2a/2b bargnani, derozan

are they actually LEGIT scorers? and being able to score 18pt/gm is different than being able to finish in the clutch

they can also be getting all those 18 points in the early parts of the game
even doing simple math shows 18 points x 3 players = 54 points, in a game where teams score closer to 90-100 points in 1 game thats only about half the scoring for the team

LET'S GO RAPTORS!!!!! 11-25-2012 02:49 PM

also, are they efficient at getting those 18pts/game

We had three players with 16.8 or more (at the end of the season)

2005-06
Bosh 22.5, James 20.3 and Peterson 16.8

...and that year we were only a few games from being the worst team in the league

Good catch. Didn't realize that MoPete scored that much that year.

The whistle blows U.S.A

I think one of the issues with the Raptors closing games out is that they can't get good shots at the end of games.

Partly because you want to run your sets late in the shot clock to kill time. The Raptors never are good at scoring of the initial attack.
