I just have to know....

IWhat you think Barbosa and the 1st round pick would net this team in a trade. Don't forget that he is not only an expiring next year, but a useful 6th man on a contender.

Please don't come at me with guys that are soon to be fossilized like Ray Allen.

What teams need a guy with Barbosa's skill set?

Then you could look @ possible trades.

Alex 03-24-2011 09:39 PM

A team with lack of offense and a weak bench. Oh wait...

Ray Allen is having his best shooting year of his career.

Bulls would be a perfect fit IMO.

Lakers would be another team, he would give them more firepower at the wing position.

Knicks- not contenders but Barbosa would blossom there as well and give them more depth.

Heat maybe? But they have nothing they can give us for Barbosa.

No team there has anything we would want other than the Knicks. But it's not like they are gunna give us Douglas or Fields.

I would only see him going to the Knicks. Back with Amare and D'Antoni running the same game back in Phoenix.

You also have to include teams that want to get deeper to join the king pins and those who are trying to just make it to the playoffs. Not the best draft, but the pick is worth something and so is Barbosa and so is the fact that he will be expiring.

Orlando, lost ground in the east
Atlanta, continue to be 2nd tier
Philly, fail, desperate
NY, desperate
NJ, desperate
Indiana, Hibbert, yeah I said it
Milwaukee, injuries and disappointment
Denver, regroup
Portland, tough luck
NO, prep for Paul's exit
Memphis, trying to climb
Houston, used to be on the cusp
Utah, regroup

L.A Clippers rights to deandre jordan

Toby 03-25-2011 07:23 PM

A better 1st round pick?

Toby 03-25-2011 07:24 PM

I'm tellin' ya'll, Blazers waived Pendergraph. Dude's a man-beast

there you go

are we rebuilding or what? This isn't the time to get rid of draft picks except to move up. Maybe next season we'll be in a position to trade our pick for a vet.

I'm not talking about some grizzled vet. Free agency might bring in one of those in a centre...What's available in keeping with the youth movment?

Then why's he cut? Health?

Wait, you would give up a top five pick and Barbosa for Jordan?

Don't get me wrong, I want Jordan on this team as much as the next guy, but that's a little extreme wouldn't you say, weak draft or not?

I would rather overpay for Jordan come Free Agency, then trade away a top-5 pick along with Barbosa for him.

The fossilized Ray Allen is the starting 2 guard on the team favored to win the Championship. Barbosa comes off the pines on the worst team in the NBA.

Not fossilized, soon to be. If you are building, why trade valuable assets to bring in a guy who could fall off a cliff in a year or 2. If he was a 22 million expiring, maybe better, but not even then.

Allen's where he belongs anyway....surrounded by a good veteran team with good role players. I would not want to see him spend a whole year of abuse trying to carry a crap team for 40 min a game to 9th place in the east.

I just meant, continuing with youth, is there anyone out there that is kind of a known commodity that can be added at a position of need? Only for example, would a team cough up a Marc Gasol or Hibbert for Barbosa and a high lottery pick (assuming we don't win it). Then there is still money to spend in free agency, hand picked at a different position of need.

carp 03-26-2011 01:46 PM

If NY continues to struggle I could see them moving Melo for Barbosa and a second rounder.

Why? either Paul or D. Williams will complete the team in 2012. 3 Amigos north.

I was being facetious. Barbosa and our first rounder wouldn't be enough.
