Question Hypothetically Speaking IF Bosh Is Dealt

So, all this trade talk as of late and now SAS stirring the pot with rumours that Chris told him that he won't resign in Toronto, when does BC deal him? When to you think the offers are at its peak?

Is is feasible to think that Colangelo would trade Chris now as in this season before the deadline or do you think the offers become that much better for Toronto during next season?

ooooh. a most bold topic you're bringing into the light Doc.

I wonder if trading (selling) a player is anything like selling a house. They say the first offer you get is usually the best one.

The time would be now, A team can load up with him for a playoff run and then hope that with a strong performance this season and next they would have a good chance to resign him.

Yeah ... why not .... curious to know people's opinions on whether most feel now or later is better when considering dealing CB4.

Can't be any worse then some of the other threads that have been started here over the last couple weeks. So why not, eh?

If you're gonna deal him, deal him now. You're not gonna get as good of an offer next year than this year. Next year, teams are going to be more reluctant to give up important pieces for a player who's going to be a FA at the end of the year. And if BC is going to deal him, deal him to a team in the West; that is, unless a team in the east gives us a sweetheart deal.

I wasn't asking for trade proposals (we have a thread for that), but a discussion on WHEN they thought he should be dealt IF he's being dealt.

I mean, most here are convinced that this ship as sunk and can't be fixed any time soon. So it would appear as though that's we're in the midst of a "blow-up". Just curious to know when peep's think it'll happen. Now or next season?

I agree with MangoKidHoops..IF you're going to do it..do it now. Fans will need to see that whatever we get back is going to produce a competitive product to have any offseason hype be effective.

If he's going to go, I say trade him now.

The sooner you can expand Bargs' the role the better.

IF is true that CB4 told BC that he won't re-sign with Toronto and he wants out of Toronto ASAP, I would say trade him before 19 Feb deadline. The last thing we need is soap opera for the this season and next season, just to start over anyway.

I still don't believe CB4 decided yet to leave Toronto. BC still have one more chance to try to build around CB4 next season by dealing JO right now and make some moves in summer.

I am not sure if Raps would get more now or in the off season... it's hard to tell... but I am sure that today BC is contemplating trading Bosh where, maybe, one month ago he wasn't.

Truth is players never go to their team and ask for a trade... they talk to their agent and he, then, plots a strategy... some are honest and will talk to the team but most will try to stir thing up in the media, talk to other teams and try all kind of ways to achieve their goal.

For me, both SAS & Rose coming out and stating that Bosh is leaving comes from somebody and it ain't BC that's for sure.

His highest value is RIGHT NOW! No one is going to give up a bunch for a guy who is in his last year of a contract. Their best bet is to trade him immediately to Portland for LaFrentz, Oden and fernandez!!!

Easy big fella.

Oden, Fernandez and LaFrentz isn't happening. Portland sees way too much value in Oden, and rightfully so.

It became painfully obvious this year that Bosh is similar to another big man who was deemed a franchise player, but really is a "robin" than a "batman" - and that player is Pau Gasol. When Gasol was with Memphis, they went to the playoffs how many years? 3? 4? And won how many games? Zero. He got dealt to the Lakers and he fits nicely in that secondary role where he doesn't have to be "the man" - and he's having much more success. Bosh has been the "man" in Toronto for a number of years now. He hasn't had much success in the playoffs and he's more suited to be in a "1-A" role than a "1" role.

I think you trade him now or this coming summer. The thing about trading him now is, he still has a year and half left on his contract. So if teams such as Dallas or ? want to send a package for Bosh in hopes of making a run in the playoffs they'd have the rest of the season plus next season to convince him to re-sign.The longer BC waits, the closer to the end of Bosh's contract, the less BC will be able to get for him.

If you're dealing Bosh to Dallas you ask for Dirk and that's that.

A deal that I think would be interesting would be Millsap + Kirilenko for Bosh. I'd likely listen to it.

Bass is just Moon, but a PF. Good role player, but a bench player. Terry is having a good season, but the guy is 32, and he's another "Robin" type guy. Howard shouldn't the jewel of the deal - and he's a potential FA in a couple of seasons. If we're dealing a young franchise guy, I want some solid young pieces return.

That is selling Bosh a bit high, but I would take it.
