The recent hate for Dwane Casey is incredible. Two weeks ago, most members agreed that he is an excellent hire and is a big part of our defensive improvement. Now people are talking about firing him? Even after we knew that the start was going to be brutal?

If anything, it is on the players if they continue to suck. I have been a huge Bryan Colangelo throughout the years, but even I agree that it is time for him to go if we fail to compete for a playoff spot this season.

The funny thing is that almost every game so far has been one bad quarter. The other 3 quarters we've won or been right there. If this team works hard and stays healthy we'll be alright. We all knew this going in. And we all knew this was going to be a rough start.

The fixing should have been made during the offseason. If we wait till the trade deadline, and Lowry is out more games, this team will be out of the playoffs by the end of this month.

1. Let BC go, replace him with Stefanski in the interim, perhaps permanently.

2. Fire Casey (or demote him to Defensive Assistant Coach) and the assistant coaches, and hire one of SVG, JVG, D'Antoni, Mike Brown, Nate McMillan or Brian Shaw. If it is at all possible, hire more than one as an assistant to whoever is HC.

3. Sign Jose to a much, much more reasonable contract (I don't see him getting traded, pretty much ever).

4. Trade some combination of Ross, Ed, Amir and Jose for any player who is a quality starter on a championship team (preferably not a PG), or a starter and and the sixth man of playoff team.

5. Throw the max at Josh Smith and Al Jefferson (or something a little below the max for Paul Millsap). Also see if Stephen Jackson can be had without paying an arm and a leg.

6. Get Magloire to sit on the bench next year, whether or not he's officially a coach.

7. See if any international stars are worth giving small contracts to, because they have to be better than McGuire and Lucas, and probably Anderson and Gray too.

8. If none of these roster changes come together, trade Bargnani, Lowry, Jose and DeRozan for as many lottery picks/high ceiling lottery rookies/sophomores as possible. Put out a line-up of Rookie/Ross/Fields/Davis/Valanciunas. Maybe generate some interest by getting AI to play point.

9. Tanks for three years with what would be a bottom 5 team. Draft the BPA every time and make draft day trades if there's a positional jam. Add one more mediocre year to see how the newest rookies pan-out. Trade the next first-rounder and any rookies who haven't fully panned out for someone near all-star calibre at whatever position is still lacking. Take on whatever all-star calibre player has the worst contract.

= playoffs for 3-5 years, 1 ECF appearance

Lather, rinse, repeat.
These might all be the worst ideas possible,

Since we won't own our pick next year unless it's top 3 (which means always a chance to lose it) I would not trade any talent for picks, I would not fire Casey, and I tell Bell/Rogers that we need to add more salary to get talent to improve. And Jose goes nowhere until his contract is up because he was the only reason our 2nd unit was good.

Yes fire, or use amnesty. Bargnani and Derozan killing this team. I m from basketball country, we have more JV fan, than Toronto Raptors have fan in Canada.

canadian people understand about basketball in same level as Lithuanian people about ice hockey.

1) I doubt that.

2) DEFINITELY doubt that. Basketball is growing more and more in Canada, it's much more widely played and known then hockey in Lithuania.

Dude. Ross hasn't even played 20 total minutes in the NBA. He is hardly an asset. Valanciunas is untouchable at this point.

Ross a better asset than Bargs/Derozan? JV i would agree with since he's a high prospect, but Bargnani and Derozan are 2 of our best players (with Lowry being our best player i would say).

The one thing i just don't get about all the bitch around here after a grand total of 6 games is asking for the coach getting fired. It's completely irrational considering everyone has been thrilled with him for over a year, I understand wanting Colangelo fired, players traded.....that's usual on message boards. But seriously, is this a joke?

If you interest more about Lithuania, understand that I'm speaking the truth. This is basketball, basketball people live there, it is a religion.

If we go back to the subject, what i can say? Raptors have an excellent rookie. Give them to play and improvement. If now you use best players ( Bargnani and Derozan ) even if you will go to playoffs anyway lose in the first round, then what's the point?

welcome to rf songohan. happy posting, but a little advice - coming in here and telling us we don't know enough about basketball because we're not lithuanian is probably not a great way to introduce yourself.
