How Will The Raptors Do In The First 12 Games?
Hey just seeing as to what everyone thinks the record of the Raptors will be after, say, 12 games? In the first 12 games the Raptors play...
Cleveland, @Memphis, Orlando, Detroit, @New Orleans, Dallas, @San Antonio, Chicago, @Lakers, @Phoenix, @Denver and @Utah
I love my Raps, but to tell you the truth i see a 2-10/3-9 outcome.
What do you guys think?

i think the should beat memphis, detroit and chicago, and they can beat new orleans, phoenix, denver and utah. maybe even cleveland as they are on a back to back and it's pumped up game 1 for us.
could be 3-9, could also be 6 or 7 wins. not likely, but possible. the fact that so many games are on the road will undoubtedly be a problem.

L Cleveland - Because of Lebron
L Memphis - Looks like a hot shooting high scoring team, against our defense? goddamn
L- Orlando - VC 'nuff said
W - Detroit - Charlie V and Ben Wallace will have to bow down to Bargs and Bosh.
W- New Orleans - Chris Paul and an undersized center is pretty much all they have.
L - Dallas - If pops can rip apart the Raptors with houston, then Marion can do 2 times that.
Dunno - Chicago - I really don't know but watching Derozan vs. Tyrus Thomas/James Johnson will amuse me.
L - LA - Kobes not gonna do shit against Derozan, Morrison will rip us apart.
W - PHX - I said before, PHX frontcourt is overrated.
L - Denver - Thuggets + Billups.
Dunno - Utah - The whole Carlos Boozer mess might put us at an advantage.
3 and 7 sounds ok.
But I see a turnaround after the 12 games and chemistry with defensive toughness kicks in.

Great question. First off, though, a couple of corrections: the Raps are playing the Clippers, not the Lakers, and the game against Dallas is on the road.
Yesterday, when I looked over the Raps schedule, I was thinking about this a bit, except I was looking at the first 15 games. IMO, the first 15 games are going to dictate how the season goes, because if things get disastrous, the media is going to make things very difficult for Triano and Colangelo (further speculating about Bosh, questioning decisions..etc.) and the team will have further difficulty trying to "gel." The reason I think the 15 game mark will be important is because the team returns home from a road trip for 3 games. If the Raps show some life in those three home games, it could be a sign of the tide beginning to turn. I say the "tide turning" because, in my opinion, there is no doubt that the first 12 games, which includes 8 games out west, will be rough. This doesn't have to be a bad thing, though. The Raps are going to have some growing pains early, as any team with 9 new players would. I'd rather have them "find themselves" against tough opponents, then lose to bad teams, or, even worse, lose to lower tier eastern conference opponents who they might be fighting with for playoff spots in April. I'd rather play those types of road games later, when they start to pull it together. That's what happened in 06-07: they started off 7-13 and had some tough games out West early on, but then posted one of the best records in the league during the second half of the season. If the Raps can escape the first 15 games with 6 or more wins, then there will be reason to be optimistic. I'm not expecting much more from them, though. If this team is going to be good, I doubt we'll see any flashes of brilliance (ie. beating an elite team on the road) until the second half of the season.
My predictions for the first 15 games: 6-9
*In the first 15 games, the Raps play Cleveland once and Orlando twice. I wouldn't be surprised if they win one of these games. All three are at home and involve a lot of emotional baggage stemming from players switching teams and nasty comments being made. And with Carter it's either feast or famine against the Raps. One game he'll probably light us up for 35, but in the other he'll probably go 3 for 15 or something.
