Dude, we don't want him, or need him. He doesn't shoot well from deep, he doesn't play D, and he's due for a big payday.

Granger was an expiring contract, and that's what Philly wanted.

yes i'm serious, DD is better than Evans, at least right now.

and i agree i would have gone after Hawes if it was possible but like for turner, we don't have a full expiring to give for the 6M contract of Hawes.
and MU prefer to keep is two 2nd rd picks.
we should have more opportunities to trade at draft or this summer.
MU said he wouldn't jeopardize the chemistry for the end of the season.

but whatever could have happen, only De Colo happen. so that's it !

yeah, we should have went after hawes, but it may have been too risky for JV - his confidence is pretty low as it is now ...

I don't know, Evans has better ball handling.... they're pretty similar actually.... DD is probably a better shooter.... but we'll probably see a better Turner in Indy, just in a more limited role.

man, that has nothing to do with liking depth !

don't be a DB !

what in our roster is equal in value as Granger : solid player and expiring ?

we dont have that, except if we give up a 1st ! so i'm realist, turner or granger were out of our reach with our asset. we will have to give up too much for one or another. (Granger, turner or Hawes) and i think MU did a good job to not falling in that trap.

yes we needed depth if you want to advance in the playoffs. but the goal is to advance in the futur, not this season.

listen to what MU is saying right now on radio, you will understand why he didn't go after that kind of deal.

I still think Turner would be an upgrade regardless

He would have solidified are already deep team. I see the Granger deal slightly better. But we could have thrown in a second round pick to even it up with Salmon's

He has been stinking it up since he strained his back a couple of weeks back

to be fair with you guys, i didn't say, i wouldn't have like it, if granger was here, because he would have bring to us a starting SF, with more consitance than TR.
for turner not so much. ross has impact because he is a 3pt threat, turner isn't, worse than DD, so that's it.

and for the record, PHIlly had capspace to give, and 2 expiring. granger is a 14M contract, we really don't have expiring enough to absorb a 14M

salmons <<< granger, so it's not a 2nd rd which would have make the difference, but a conditionnal 1st. too much to give if you don't want to jeopardize the future.

now, i'm not MU. i would have gone for a trade like that :

Philly get salmons + Fields + 1st NYK 2016
INdy get Turner + Allen
Tor get Granger + Wroten.

we know we could resign him to a lesser contract. the guy is like a true pro. but if he bolt out this summer, what then ? we will have give up a 1st for 3 month rental and a 2nd rd playoffs appearance. and what after that ?

I'm not giving up a first round pick for an expiring Granger on his last legs. Plus getting rid of Fields is fruitless, unless we're going to actually acquire a big name FA. Safer bet is to do what GS did, which is reach a deal with AI, then unload Jefferson and Biedrens along with a first for a TPE. We could try that with Deng. That way we're giving up a pick plus Fields/Hayes for TPE and immediately inking that deal with Deng.

Lowry/Vasquez/Decolo
Demar/Ross
Deng/Salmons/GR3
Amir/Patterson
Valanciunas/Hill

1) Re-sign Lowry.
2) Agree with Deng on a deal, if he agrees, send Hayes/Fields plust 1st rounder and 2nd round pick for TPE. Use that space to sign Deng.
3) Sign Jordan Hill
4 Draft G3R and Re-sign Salmons after declining his team option.

I'm a big Evan Turner fan because he was amazing at Ohio State but I will say this:

Turner game wouldn't fit for Toronto right now unless he changes the way he plays. Hopefully Indy is a great fit for him and he realizes it.

1. He is a poor NBA shooter. Mid range not bad. Deep? Terrible shooter. Needs work.
2. He is bad on defense/doesn't try. Could be because it was Philly and they sucked. Hopefully his effort on the defensive side is a lot better in Indy.

There is a lot to like about Turner game, he can create for others off the dribble and score in bunches at time. If he could improve his range and defense, he would be a very good NBA player. Hopefully he realizes that now with him being on one of the best teams in the NBA.

He has not a single tangible above-average NBA skill. He's a volume shooter that can't defend. He offers us - and most teams - absolutely nothing of value, and he's going to want a contract somewhere in the $8-10m range.

Evan Turner Is Not a Good Basketball Player.
