How poetic...

All season we couldn't draw up good last minute plays and our season ends on one. I seriously hope this is improved next year.

Gurk 05-04-2014 04:11 PM

Hopefully Casey isn't back next season so we don't have to see garbage plays all game long

LET'S GO RAPTORS!!!!! 05-04-2014 04:12 PM

I have absolutely no problem with Lowry going to the basket to try to win the game. He earned that.

Dario 05-04-2014 04:15 PM

yeah lowry deserved that last attempt, he made us win all of our games

Alex 05-04-2014 04:17 PM

I'm all for Lowry getting the ball. I just feel that we could have given him more room or have him drive on a left pick and roll.

If I'm right, it seems that raptors are 1-8 in OT games. :/

Alex 05-04-2014 04:18 PM

Also are we even in this series without Casey and his coaching team? The defence for most of the year was superb.

VanCity 05-04-2014 04:20 PM

Lowry is our best player and like jeff said, i have no problem with lowry driving to the basket. He had a good chance too. Pierce played good D.

I don't have a problem with the last play. He split the D, just got met at the rim.

Kriz 05-04-2014 04:28 PM

The issue was spacing in the end but yea lowry deserved that play.

Oyobi 05-04-2014 04:29 PM

it's fine if Lowry tries to end it, but c'mon if you're defended by 3 people, you should be smart and pass it. someone was open...

I thought when he started to drive he should have dropped it to Patterson. That being said, hard to pass through three players.

Northern Neighbour 05-04-2014 04:32 PM

Give credit to the Nets for defending that play to perfection. The only issue I had was not having a shooter like Ross on that side of the floor to give Lowry an option.

Kriz 05-04-2014 04:33 PM

Yea it seemed like there was no space to pass at all. Unless lowry was able to have a half second reaction to realize it but i think anyone would have had a hard time to pass lile that.

There was no space because Nets didn't defend the 3, all of them were defending against 2pointer

Oyobi 05-04-2014 04:43 PM

yeah, of course, it was hard to pass. and he wasnt even looking for anyone. and you know why? because that was the play. for lowry to drive and score. there was no 'attract 2 defenders and pass to open', since he wasn't looking for it, even though he had it. shoulda known better they'd collapse lowry or derozan..

MikeToronto 05-04-2014 05:10 PM

Our coaching staff wouldn't know offence if it bit them in the ass. That play, if it was actually drawn by them, should be enough to dismiss the lot. Is Lowry going on on four really the best they could do?!

Ball Don't Lie 05-04-2014 05:11 PM

The spacing of the play was awful, but we've come to expect that with Casey run plays. Lowry tried to get his way out of a straight jacket but couldn't unfortunately. We would have been better off going ISO in that scenario with how the floor was spaced, and even that's a bad play. I think it's too much to ask for movement off of the ball in a Casey drawn up play.
