How much $$ would you give Nash and how would you structure it?
I'm assuming we're going to have to offer him 3yrs/27-30Mil contract, unless he was willing to take a hometown discount to allow us to make subsequent moves. But i would say that's very unlikely.
If the deal is 3yrs/30Mil how backloaded can that be? Is it possible to do something like: 8.5 10 11.5 How low could the 1st year be, in order to preserve as much capspace as possible? Maybe this is a question for DanH? |

truth is, it makes no difference
once we get nash and that missing SF, we'll be out of cap space forever. A lot more critical is what kind of player we get to pair nash with. for the record, he'll get 3/30, maybe 3/33 with the last year half-guaranteed or something like that. I'm sure Nash won't kill us for every penny, we're Canada's team after all. |
