Default how many cards we have?

While there are a lot of scenarios in play, I wonder how many of these are controlled by us. For example, if lowry + 16 for the 8th is on the table, who's call it is, ours or Houston?

In my opinion it's not with us, I think Houston is working hard with Orlando to see if they can pull that trade. Without that, they have no need for #8.

I think we have very little sway in the course of events tonight, and whatever happens will be a result of what other teams do.

Ours, they're the ones trying to move up and they are the ones offering.

so what, they could come to us and say "if certain things happen for us, we'd be willing to give you lowry and 16 for your 8", are you ok with it? And we'd say maybe "yes" or "yes, but only if player X is not on the board in which case we draft him"

any number of scenarios are possible, doesn't matter who initiates the talks (not to mention that we don't know it was them, could have been us just as easily).

We (Houston) want to move up and want your #8, we're willing to offer Lowry and #16. We (Toronto) are intrigued by that offer but we really like Waiters/Barnes, if they're off the board we'll talk.

i think the Houston trade is in Toronto's court. Raptors are stalling because they might believe there's a very slight chance Barnes or even Kidd-Gilchrist(lol yeah right) could drop to them. If the reports are true, they could be willing to see how far Waiters drops too.

I think Houston in the meanwhile is trying to get the Kings #5 pick but they are budging at all lol so Toronto is cleary more realistic for the Rockets.
