Jack has a history where teams always give up on him. So now I ask the question how long will Toronto stick with Jack. Are we any smarter then then the others ??????

there aren't any signs of why we should give up on him. Especially now that he's found a perfect role on this team. I'm not gonna worry. Also he's only got 3 years so..

Longer then Calderon.

And this crap about teams giving up on him is rediculous. He was traded once by Portland. Indiana wanted to keep him, but couldn't afford a 4yr 20Mil contract because of T.J Ford's large contract that is difficult to move. They prefer him to T.J, which was proven last season when he was given the starters role and by the lack of play by T.J this season.

I saw the heading of this thread and didn't have to look at who started it. And considering it seems BC wants to trade Calderon, he'll be here longer then Jose. And considering their numbers are pretty close he's worth it for half the money as Calderon and is younger.

Plus Jack is a slight upgrade on D, then again my 10yr old cousin would be an upgrade on Jose's D.
The question is who's interested in aquiring Jose? He's just filler.

Jack (4.5Mil)>>>>>>> Jose (8.2Mil)

Why people think that Jack is better defender than Calderon is frankly a mystery to me. IMHO, they are about even in terms of being unable to stop the ball at the point of attack. Offensively, Calderon is still a better shooter while Jack is stronger and can get to the rim easier, so that's a wash.

The only major difference to me is the fact that Jack is apparently more comfortable playing off the ball. With the arrival of Turkoglu, Jack became a better complement to him on offense - but Calderon has proven to be absolutely vital in creating easy scoring opportunities for the second unit guys like Johnson and Weems. So, trading him right now will undoubtedly weaken our offence off the bench.

Thanks Jeff for your support. I know I can always count on you. I had a little side bet going that you will respond in less then 30 minutes. You came back in 20 minutes.

Jeff I go back to our old forum when there was only a handful of posters. I was the one that always thought that TJ 's days were numbered in Toronto. I took alot of heat and it just fell on deaf ears. I see the same thing happening again however its Jack this time. Jack will never be as good Calderon as a point guard. His skill set will never match that of Jose. Jack will never be a raptor longer then Jose. If Jose does indeed gets traded you will see once and for all how much better Jose is over Jack.

Jeff just because you think Jack is better then Jose it does not make you a bad person. I actually like you, you stick to your guns and to what you believe regardless how weak your player is at the pg position.

It's all really plain and simple: Jarrett Jack is an absolute stud.

I actually think they're close in talent, more then you care to admit. I don't dislike Jose and i've said that over and over. But Jack imo is slightly better then Jose on D, since neither is great defensively. I think that offensively both have parts of their games that are better then the other. The main difference is first off Jack fits alot better with Hedo + starters because he can play better without the ball then Jose can. Secondly he makes half the $$ as Jose which makes Jose expendable. Thirdly, we've gone to the playoffs twice with Jose and haven't done anything.

I wouldn't go that far, neither is a stud. But Jack is better for the Money he gets then Jose is. No way is Jose 2x better then Jack. They're quite even imo.

Why does Jack struggle on d ????? Because he is just like an old hooker.....actually a hooker on wheels. It's hilarious how much love Jack gets on this site.Jack won't last too long in TO.

Question for Jeff ...now its not a trick question so here it is. If Jack was making 8.2 mil and Jose was making 4.5 mil who would you trade ? Now Jeff think this through as I have another side bet on the go.

Another side bet just came up...Jeff is Jack Hedo's bitch because he plays better with Hedo..yes or no ???

I would want Jack traded. The fact is they're both pretty good PG's but if one is dealt it should be the one making more $$ unless that player is so beyond the other in talent.

If you have two good PG and wanna deal one you'll get more back in return by dealing the larger contract. And you're comment on Jack not lasting nhere in toronto is just wishful thinking. Especially if Bosh stays, Jack is going nowhere anytime soon, Caly will be gone by the end of next summer.

BTW, Caly struggles even more on D then Jack.

Great post Mike.

I've been a bit surprised at Jack's D TBH... I thought that it would be a bit better. It's not horrible but he's not the stopper that I thought he could be.

Right now Weems and Wright are our "go to" guys in terms of shutting down the wings. I still like Banks too. He really gets into guys.

Jack might not be a stopper at the point of attack, but he will at least play physically, particularly around the basket, on both ends. Jose will mix it up at times, and when he does it is pretty much a wash. But all too often he runs away from the slightest contact, while Jack takes charges. Let's not underestimate that.
