Most of DeMar's dunks this year have come from play calls (alley-oops out of a timeout) and sharp cuts or open floor stuff. In the half court, he doesn't have the feel yet to find the seem and expose it.
You mean the way Westbrook likes to do?

Didn't Paul Pierce look a little underwhelming his first two years in the league?

Not at all. Pierce was good. I remember him getting a lot of praise for the way that he conducted himself on & off the court. I think that he got buried a bit by the VC hype train though.

He had some very ineffective stretches and was an afterthought compared to what he would become. He was a very different player once he matured mentally and physically.

To be expected when you're a rook TBH.

But 16/6/2 + 2 stls/gm and 40% from 3 is pretty darn good for a 1st year player. I do remember him being pretty solid defensively too. By year 2 he was already a 20 pt scorer....and he flat-out blew up in year 3.

Wonder how things would have been if we picked Brandon Jennings or like originally expected to be picked, Jrue Holiday.

I never thought DD would be a star, but I thought he would be a solid 18-20 ppg scorer. He may still get there but it's gonna be hard with his limited handles and lack of offensive skills. Dude doesnt even go to the rim often. Hopefully he turns it around.
