Question How come no one is talking about DeRozan?

He played a solid game last night and he was exceptionally good in the first quarter. I was really pleased with his play on both ends.

Because nearly all people wanted him to sit and wanted another player to start

Definitely one of his best games of the season. Kudos to him for sure. If he plays like that it helps this team BIG TIME.

I'm impressed as well. I think he's going to be a piece for this team. I love his aggression getting to the line..fearless.

I really like how he's played lately. I still don't think he should start in the playoffs.

If he continues to play the way he has and in particular in the 1st quarter of games, why shouldn't he start?

Well they gave the stat during the game that if he scores 10+ points, the Raps are 15-10 (now 16-10)... clearly effective contributions from the SG position in the NBA is important especially to this team's success... it means they are running up and down...

Playoffs are a different animal all together. And he'll be overwhelmed and way overmatched vs the elite east teams SG's who will amp up there game considerably. I would want more experience in there vs Lebron, Johnson etc....

Hmm...sounds like a cliched answer I've read somewhere else.

So if he's playing well and has earned the right to start you're going to punish him for being a rookie? Maybe he'll be amped up and maybe he'll take his game to a whole new level?

He's been inconsistent most of the season and i think he shouldn't start in the playoffs and i won't change my mind after a good week which he's done before. Now, if this continues for the last month of the season then maybe i'd see it differently. Let's not get too ahead of ourselves.

Yes he's young, and yes he's inconsistant, but if he's been the starter for the entire year then it makes no sense to take him out when they get to the playoffs.

And in all honesty, IMO the rest of the remaining games this year should be considered playoff games as far as the Raptors are concerned.

Ppl have been relucant to give credit where it is due in regards to DeMar all season

imo he's been playing quite consistent since March 1 when he was taking out of that game

Boy, a week ago the vast majority here were saying Wright should be our starting SG in the playoffs. Things change quick.

You're the one who brought up the playoffs, I would simply asking why he was getting no recognition fro his strong play last night? And in case you missed it I said "if he's playing well."

And what has changed? Do fancy and I (the only people who said he should start in the playoffs) = the vast majority. I've never even weighed in on whether he should start or not, so I haven't changed my tune at all.

does that mean Weems should replace Turkoglu, and Johnson should replace Bargnani?

cause they clearly are inconsistent as hell, or should they just get the benefit of the doubt, that since they are not a rookie, all of a sudden when the playoffs come they will consistently be playing at a high level?

He is not even Top 12 rookie who could not make the rookie all-star team and will not make any first team or second team rookie team at the end of the season. Is he worth talking about? After watching Tyreke Evans and Curry lead their teams in defeating the Raptors, those are rookies worth talking about. Just like all rookie rankings on all the NBA sites, Derozan is just a footnote.

Obviously he's not in their league, but you've got give credit where credit is due.

He wasn't a footnote last night.
