How the Cavs Compare: Toronto Raptors

Hmmm .... does this sound like a challenge? :confused2:

I really don't think that we should take this guy seriously. First off, he thinks that Big Z and JJ Hickson will be able to stop Jermaine O'Neil. So, a perimeter big man who is an average defender and a rookie out of NC State, who is listed as a power forward, will be able to contain (when healthy) an elite big man?:stars:
Also, he forgot to mention our four newest players when comparing rosters. I'll be the first to admit that the Cavaliers would likely beat us in a playoff series, but the opinions of a guy who not only thinks that Ilgauskas and a rookie could stop JO, but also omitted four of our key role players when comparing rosters, should not add to that belief.

yeah, not to mention that he says that a series played by the raptors could actually be "very physical" ... I don't remember a game where we have been even midly physical ... :)

The Cavs will be vastly improved with Mo at the point. Finally Bron has a playmaker and a legit second scorer.

The Raptors will be hard pressed to defeat the Cavs in a seven game series.

CLE is much more battle tested and a much better defensive/physical team then us, and they have a bunch of guards who have all proven they can hit the big shot(Delonte and Gibson since their rookie years, and Mo Williams game winners in the past 2-3 yrs). Not to mention they have the best player in the league on their team. We have no chance vs them.

Kirby 09-27-2008 09:19 PM

We can beat them..Just as long as Bosh's girlfriend isn't there. That pissed me off..

Gurk 09-27-2008 11:28 PM

OMG what was that a 20 point lead?

Kirby 09-27-2008 11:35 PM

Yes..
He dropped 24 in the 4th and we lossed.

Cleveland is pretty much the last team I'd want to see in the playoffs if you're looking at it right now, and that's probably the case with every team in the East. They could face as many or more questions comparatively, but they can answer any questions pretty quickly, barring Lebron being hospitalized.

Ugo Ferst 09-28-2008 04:57 PM

LeBron is goot!

ClingRap 09-28-2008 06:11 PM

Yes, but will bosh and J.O. and a rejuvenated Bargnani not give the cavs fits as well. sure we've got problems on the wings, but there arent too many teams in the world that could adequately guard lebron and keep him from getting his. the most successful ones have been good at keeping him out of the paint, which is nerely impossible. but i think even with lebron firing on all cylinders, with bosh and j.o. working it, freeing up open looks for parker, kapono, and bargs, then i think we've got a legit shot against them in a seven game series.

zachus 09-28-2008 06:17 PM

lol, i can't believe he honestly thinks that Z and Hickson can match up with Bosh and JO. Z is an old man - JO will tear him up in the low post.

Kirby 09-28-2008 08:53 PM

Ben Wallace..

Gurk 09-28-2008 09:31 PM

Old and can't play that good any more..

Kirby 09-28-2008 10:33 PM

Still can defend. Camby's still going at it.

dfunkie1 09-28-2008 11:15 PM

wallace's a tough player who played thru a lot of injuries throughout his career. problem is that they've been catching up to him these past couple of seasons. him losing his defensive prowess nearly makes him a complete liability while on the court.

or

wallace has always been a product of the pistons system. without that system he's half the player he was.

i'll choose the latter. Thank you ;)

Kirby 09-28-2008 11:24 PM

Still rather put Z and Wallace in the same sentence than Z and Hickson..

Gurk 09-28-2008 11:30 PM

I agree with you there
