Honestly I would like to see him here to end his career,
We aren't going to win a championship anytime soon so let's just celebrate a great Canadian basketball player.

I think if we pair this young man with Val through next year's draft, championship contention, while still years away, will seem viable. I'm clinging to this pick if I'm BC or whoever the frig is running the show.

This is a Canadian thing so I'll stay away from value part of this.

But that trade doesn't get Nash to end his career in Toronto. You get to rent Nash for one year.

I love Nash but don't want him here for any pick. Not worth it at all.

I don't want Nash here, giving away a pick is too much IMO. If we can deal Jose for Nash straight up then sure, but I doubt that'll ever happen.

I'd love Nash here, but honestly how many years does he have left? Two at the most?

I don't think it should take any draft picks to get him in a trade. more like a vet and a prospect.

A serviceable PG and a solid PF for an over the hill PG? Do you really think any team would give a high pick/prospect to land Nash at his age? Unless that team has a massive amount of youg talent and can afford to do it. But really, Jose/Amir + cash and/or 2nd rounder should do it if Lopez is thrown in. If not i wouldn't touch any deal for Nash that would involved Ed Davis. The only thing i will say is that a Center rotation of of Valanciunas/Lopez/Alabi would be pretty solid with Bargnani/Amir @ PF. But still, imo Davis should be a huge part of our future and trading him for minimal short term gains is just not what i would like to see. Interesting to think about though.

Besides, Nash is an expiring contract. Why would anyone give up a high pick or prospect for a nearly 38yr old Nash when he's a FA in a 10 months?

Well, because you were getting a very serviceable and young C back in Lopez too....

Maybe it's too much, but I think it just opens up more for this team.... Nash vs Calderon is a HUGE win... in two years, Jose won't be re-signed anyways, at least not at that coin. Lopez for Davis is a loss, but not huge, especially with a young Amir still here.

Andre Drummond Official Mixtape Vol. 4 UCONN - YouTube
I've been saying this forever.

A front court of Drummond at the 4 and Val at the 5 will eventually be crazy dominant. Add in having Davis and Amir coming off the bench, we'd be in good position.

Trade Bargnani for Nash, would you do it?

It's funny, two years ago people were saying Nash was too old to go after.... two good years later and now he's too old to go after.

No... cause you're not guaranteed Drummond.

No. Even i wouldn't do that one. Nash is a free agent soon. If we want him, just sign him. Then Trade Bargnani and an expiring Calderon for another 1st rounder next summer + a SF/depth.
