Default How big of a leap could we make next year?

IF everything goes according to plan (i.e. high lotto pick, adding an impact player through FA, internal improvement) for the next season, how big of a move could we move?

I was thinking about Boston and how much older they look and will be by the beginning of next season, the Nets are no sure thing about re-signing Deron and even trading for D12 and the Knicks have an heir of dysfunctionality around them (and are really really thin imo), so could we be catching up to the pack soon?

Enough to be in the playoff hunt, which in the East is a sizable pack of teams behind the top 3-4. If they can get a 6-8 seed and not embarrass themselves in the first round, we'll know that a bright future is ahead of them.

They have a lot of potential, but they'll also still be young, Valanciunas will for sure be adjusting to the North American game, and they'll need time to gel.

Compete for 7-8th.

Colangelo and Casey's final years on their contracts with 10-20Mil capspace. I expect a top 5 draft pick + Valanciunas...then a trade that brings us a good PG or SF, then one sizeable splash in free agency (PG or SF).

If Bargs doesn't turn the corner under Casey on D/rebounding i truely think he'll be one of the players moved.

Isn't Felton a FA next summer? I'm not a huge fan of his but he'd certainly be an upgrade. I really am hoping for Barnes, Drummond, Davis or Jones in the draft. Any one of them would be great for us imo.

A lot is going to depend on what kind of pick or picks come this way, as far as how quickly they impact the team. I don't see V as being a player that will allow for a big turnaround on his own, in his first year.

Much will also depend on what trades occur, and who fills the spots of the one-year contracts. The opportunity is there. What happens over the next six months could impact this team for a long time, not just for next season. That's what is really exciting. There could be longterm stability being setup, with multiple 60+ win seasons ahead.

Depends on who we draft & who we sign.. if we make the right draft pick & signings we could be in the top half of the playoff ladders.

Heat, Bulls, Knicks... the rest is up for grabs.

I still se the teams as a 10 seed next year, 14th this year

Free Agent PG / DeRozan / Barnes / Bargs / Valanciunus would be a pretty nifty starting line up next season.

Jose / Bayless / James Johnson / Ed Davis / Amir Johnson on bench... I'd like to see a spark plug type as a sixth man like a JCrawford or something...but it doesn't look awful right now.

I agree with your assessment of what the raps will try to do ... I still think we will be bottom dwellers unless we get a major free agent like Williams
