Default Hoopsworld: Raptors Talking With OKC & Sacramento?

Hmmm .... take it with a grain of salt considering who the source is, but the Raptors are rumoured to be talking to the OKC (which we knew already) and as well the Kings.

The Raptors are rumored to be shopping Anthony Parker who has struggled this year, as well as Andrea Bargnani, although sources close to the team say Bryan Colangelo is not ready to give up on "Bargs" just yet. Raptor sources admit he might be one of the few attractive chips the Raptors have to cash, but he appears to be a last-option type guy. The Raptors might be best suited offering up a Bargnani package and a first round draft pick to the Sacramento Kings for John Salmons. The Kings' swingman might be exactly what the Raptors are missing.

I would definately take a hard look at that. Salmons has proven himself the last 2 years to be a very capable scorer and pretty good passer as well, and his defence is superb. I wouldnt mind that trade at all as long as God let him come to Canada.

I would love Wilcox and Salmons here. Our wing and rebounding problems would be solved. Now I can't wait till a trade goes down

If we were in championship win now mode I'd most definately take Smith over Wilcox because of his experience, savvy, and shooting, but where we are now if we could get Salmons for Bargs, Wilcox would be a very nice piece off the bench to replace him. Ive never really liked Wilcox because hes a dumbass, but he can score around the rim and rebound so whatever.

What if Salmons does the same thing he did a couple of years back. Then we would lose Bargs for nothing

Didn't Salmons already said no to the Raps? Why would he come now?

Sacramento is bad but it's not like Raps are going anywhere... at least he has nice weather there...

Sactown won't take that package, with Hawes and Thompson they don't need Bargs.

A package centered around Jose and Salmons on the other hand, maybe. Sactown turns the ball over way too much, they get the assist to turnover ratio king, lol.

Because the Sacramento Kings are in rebuild mode, don't you guys think they would take the expiring contract of Anthony Parker and a couple of future
2nd round picks for Salmons. Then after that we could turn around and trade Bargs and some one like Hassan Adams for Wilcox. I think if all that would be possible it should be done.

It's Roko time!!!

No but really, I don't think BC would do Jose for Salmons straight up. But Jose for Salmons and Garcia for example? I'd jump on it. The upgrade at the wings is more than the drop from Jose to Ukic

Might be like Jose and Parker for Udrih and Salmons though. That's alright too

I like Wilcox but is he that much of an upgrade over Humphries really? A guy like Salmons would be a great pickup. We need some more scoring..either a great facilitator or someone that gets to the rim.

Do we really want John Salmons? Lest we forget this is the guy who agreed in principle to sign with us and then at the last minute change his mind just a couple years ago.

But really though we need a swing man much more than we need a big man. Another rebounding presence would help but it definitely wouldn't put us over the hump - no pun intended.

I don't like giving up draft picks with the Raps situation. Especially with John Salmons.

According to Kings fans Salmons is another player in the mold of a Mike James (whom everyone loved so much). He's a black hole who thinks shot, shot, shot.

We'll just have to take Hawes off them

Sac can keep Salmons... he didnt want to come here before, why would he want to come now.
if we're in talks with them, please let it be around Spencer Hawes and Fransico Garcia.

Garcia is another amazing player, I also like Udrih. He is becoming a better player as the time goes and I think he will fit in here

I wouldn't mind Salmons if we gave up Bargs and some fillers, but i would not trade Jose for him unless we got Udrih or someething. N then if we could get Wilcox here i think we would be in wayyyyyy better shape ebcause he can rebound and will bring some grit to our soft team.
