Default Hoopsworld: Raptors Ready to Deal?

Hoopsworld are getting in on all the fun now too.

Makes me wonder seeing how BC hasn't denied all this trade talk lately if there is in fact a deal in the works.

So who's your pick? The predominant rumor as either the Golden State Warriors' Al Harrington or the Charlotte Bobcats' Gerald Wallace heading to Canada in exchange for a package including Anrea Bargnani.

A couple of sticking points here.

1) While Michael Jordan keeps saying he wants to move Wallace, Larry Brown is actually very pleased with his play. And why not? He and Jason Richardson are the only consistent scoring threats on a team laden with underachievers.

2) The Raptors would really prefer to keep Bargnani, who is showing signs of becoming a player worthy of his draft position. He averaging 9.7 points per game and shooting 56% from the field . . .58% from behind the arch.

3) You have to wonder if the Raptors are going to give up on Jamario Moon, who has become a much more efficient player this season while his stats have remained about the same through six games. Al Harrington would be a short-term solution who could help them this year and then step aside for Moon next season. Wallace, on the other hand, has a long-term contract worth about $50 million over the next five years.

So what do you think, Raptors fans? Would you rather have Gerald Wallace or Al Harrington - and how much is too much to give up? Should the team allow Bargnani to slip away? Post your comments below and let's see what everyone thinks.

Bargs and Kaps for Harrington, Wright, and their 1st. Otherwise G-State can go screw themselves. If BC gives up Bargs for a player like Harrington alone, i'll be extremely pissed.

Agreed. Neither trading partner seems to offer much. Now if we start hearing about a multiple team deal, I might get excited.

I don't think that GS would go into the playoffs so that would be a lottery pick. The raps need a SF, and Wright can be come a good player. I would do that trade. I am still a little unsure about Bargs. I really want to see what he can do when he is playing well. But then again the Raps need to win so this trade would make sense

I don't like giving up Andrea for any of these two .... Wallace has a bad contract and medical issues while Al Harrington is as good as gone after this season. I would say not to rush up right now unless is a pretty damn good deal.

i'm usually driving the 'trade bargs' bandwagon, but this time i'm staying away. i'm not a fan of harrington, and wallace's health scares me..
i like wallace alot, but dont think he's that guy who will put us over the top.
i'm indifferent.... i dont know whether i'd be happy or pissed.

I don't see BC trading Bargnani after everything they've worked on with him over the summer, his improvement so far this season and after picking up his option on his contract. All that after 7 games?

But i do believe something will happen farelly quickly. He's right about one thing, where there's smoke there's fire.

the thing I want the most is to see Smitch getting fired and Flip being hired. Now that is something I will enjoy

the thing here is that the Raptors are missing 1 good player, as in they need 1 more player on the roster, trading Bargs for someone won't really help because maybe that player will help the starting lineup but then there's no Bargs in the 2nd unit so it becomes weaker
basically its a plus 1 way and a minus the other so thats just a change of nothing
they need to add a good player without taking away a good player, which is highly unlikely unless there's an idiot GM out there that will trade away a star for like will solomon, hump, and joey, which won't happen
