Yuck. I know Blair could come in and contribute as the first bigman off the bench, but do we really want to spend a lotto pick on a role player/bench player? What about dealing the pick with one of our bad contracts for an expiring?

big, strong, defensive-minded and intense. what's not to like?

i don't see any difference-makers out there anyways. maybe i'll eat my words, but i think this kid has a bright future in the nba.

I think he's more Jason Maxiell than Milsap, Evans or Anthony Mason.

I'm not too sold on Blair myself. He does have an incredible motor, a huge wingspan, but is his height and weight going to detract him in the NBA? In college, he was a man against boys.

Yeah, the first matchup he dominated (I think he was 20 and 20 that night), but the next time around I don't think Blair even reached a double double - or registered double digits in points or rebounds. I think Thabeet had a double double in the re-match.

If there were a wing player that we could be sure would add something to this team, that player would be drafted....I'm sure of that.

But the reality is that it's a toss-up from 6-15 and only the top 2 seem to have a really bright future. Any wing player at 9 will have a hard time making a difference scoring right off the bat, whereas Blair should be able to help shore up the rebounding and defensive deficiencies right away.

I don't think drafting Blair means trading Bosh. I 'd be shocked if he averaged more than 18-20 minutes next season.

I like him, i think he's a good compliment to the pieces we have. But if we take him, it'll be at 9. One of Milwaukee, NJ, Indiana and Phoenix will be waiting to snap him up after us.

Saying that, this could be a bluff by BC to force other teams who want Blair to offer us their pick + player/ cash for him. Who knows at this point.

As good as he is the Raptors don't need another big man, they need to draft a wing player, my favourite would be Gerald Henderson, him or Demar Derozan or Tyreke Evans. By the looks of it BC is only going to draft a big man and a backup point guard, stupid BC.

I hope Colangelo has a plan to find a good SG if he's not gunning for one in the draft...

It doesn't mean much...If anything it means that BC may be looking for a player to fit what Shawn Marion did at the end of the season...

It probably means Marion won't be back.

I'm beginning to think that if Blair IS the pick, he'll be dealt to another team. The Raptors were unbeatable when they were active, when they were running the floor. That isn't Blair's forte. It could be a situation where the Raptors grab another player and move back and get another player (ie Blair to NJ for Yi and NJ's pick - maybe Gerald Henderson).

I think Marion will be back.

That doesn't mean much right now though. People are outright saying that they're selecting Thabeet based on potential, not where he is now. Thabeet is a project. He's going so high due to his height. I think Thabeet is going to bust.

They moved RJ for Yi and Bobby Simmons. I'm not sure they turn around and move him with a lotto pick all to move up a couple spots.

+1. that kid has bust written all over him. If he's being dominated by guys that are 7-8-9 inches shorter than him, it doesn't bode well.
