Hmm ... If Kidd is Dealt to Dallas ....

... does this mean that he won't be playing on the Eastern Conference All-Star team this weekend? (Jose anyone?)

Has anything like this happened before just before an All-Star weekend when the main person being dealt was nominated to play on his old conference team but just got dealt to the other one before the game itself?

INSIDER 02-13-2008 03:21 PM

oh snap... you're right!
jose is in for sure then..........
or he'll get snubbed for hedo. sigh.

but they will definitely need PG.

fancylad 02-13-2008 03:21 PM

that's a really good question, doc.

I don't see how it's possible to have a player playing for the Dallas Mavericks suit up for the east in an all star game. Makes no sense.

Stern has been reluctant to decide on this until he has to. Now he has to. The real question is if JKidd is on the west team, they will have an extra player. Does that mean the east gets 2 additional guys to even things up?

Hmm .... maybe we as Raptor fans and Hollinger will get their wishes after all. :)

It would be a poetic justice, as it was Kidd's selection as a starter that effectively cost Calderon a much-deserved spot in the first place.

With Kidd now in the West is...

... Jose the best pure Point Guard in the East?

And does Kidd play in the All-Star game for the East or West?

Belsius 02-13-2008 07:19 PM

So, if kids gone, one spot is avaible in the....

All- Star game, they are saying in the Nets feed that maybe they are going to use 13 players in the west. That means that at least one more allstar will go to the east. Now with only one PG in the east they will have to choose a PG. I dont see any other option outside of calde. Ray Allen, but that would be another SG.

Krazy Ivan 02-13-2008 07:28 PM

I asked the same thing... not sure what happens but probably Stern will make some kind of a decision...

Belsius 02-13-2008 07:30 PM

ups I think we did the thread at the same time, or I didnt see your thread before. Doc delete mine if you want.

Belsius 02-13-2008 07:32 PM

haha, three threads with the same topic.

BballWatcher 02-13-2008 07:38 PM

I'm going to answer something different in each of the threads. Kidd will still play for the east.

BballWatcher 02-13-2008 07:39 PM

I'm going to answer something different in each of the threads. Kidd will play in the West and they will introduce a new spot just for him, just as an exception this year (that's my gut feeling anyway).

BballWatcher 02-13-2008 07:40 PM

I'm going to answer something different in each of the threads. Kidd will play for the west and someone will get booted off.

Belsius 02-13-2008 07:47 PM

I think this is the most probable option.

Belsius 02-13-2008 09:22 PM

ray allen has being named as a substitution for Caron batler. If theres a spot in the Pg position should go to calde

Dr. J. Naismith 02-13-2008 09:27 PM

Merged all three threads guys, so it might look a little mixed up. ;)

Anyhow, Ray named as Caron's replacement and hopefully Jose once the Kidd trade is official.

I think its safe to say that it'll either be Jose or Hedo. Stern better use his head for this one. ;)

Kidd wants out and he sits out the last game against the raptors :baby:. The deal falls through the cracks for now :o, however, unofficially Kidd is no longer a Net. He should just pull himself out of the allstar game. He never should have been selected based on this years performance :bonk:. When he gets announced at the all star game they will say starting for the east at the point guard and soon to be a maverick Jason cry baby :crying: kidd.lol

I believe he was voted on raptor123. Not hand selected by Rivers. :p

Anyhow, whether you like him or not, he's officially still property of the Nets and because the fans voted him to be there then the only people he's letting down is his fans. So, as hard as it will be for him and the Nets franchise, I expect him in a Nets uni Saturday night for the skills competition. :D
