Default Heat probably won't trade Beasley for Bosh

the Miami circus continues

Quote:
The Heat has strong interest in Chris Bosh, but it has not offered to trade Michael Beasley in a package for potential 2010 free agents Bosh or Amare Stoudemire, and there is sentiment inside the Heat against offering Beasley.

Here's why: The Heat believes it has a decent chance to sign a top 2010 free agent, even if it cannot trade for one before; envisions Beasley as a future All-Star who can be used at small forward (''he can play that spot, no doubt,'' Pat Riley said) and power forward; and likes having a potential star earning modest money ($15.9 million over the next three years), especially with the possibility of two maximum contracts in 2010-11 ( Dwyane Wade, and ideally, Bosh).

Neither Toronto's Bosh nor Phoenix's Stoudemire has been made available via trade, but the Raptors might deal Bosh if he doesn't agree to an extension. A Bosh deal would carry some risk unless Bosh agrees to a contract extension at the time. Nothing can be ruled out with Riley, but as one person close to him said, the Heat's concern is that giving up Beasley would be too hefty a price for a player who potentially could be acquired a year later in free agency.

Bosh won't be traded unless he agrees to an extension first (S&T), and if that happens i don't want any part of Miami other then Wade. Ain't gonna happen!

I think it should read: Heat likely can't trade Beasley for Bosh

Well I guess its settled that Bosh won't be heading to Miami. It sounds like Riley wants to weasel himself into a Pau Gasol type trade. No dice, Colangelo is too smart and has strong ownership backing him.

This just pisses me off, I would give him up to a contender like Spurs or his home town team for free just to piss them off and make em eat their words.

Unbelievable I mean there is no other team in this league but Miami?? Is that the only destination of all free agents ?? Is that why they haven't been able to land a decent PG for the last 2 yrs.!! I mean wouldn't Bosh like to play with CP3 or LBJ.

I guess its a smart move by Riley. Why trade player with a very high cieling for a player who has a good chance of signing there in 2010. Common sence

in other news, the Raptors have decided against trading joey for lebron james, considering that lebron pretty much hit his ceiling, while joey still has a lot of upside and comes much cheaper ...

if you want to talk "chances", the probability of Bosh walking should be way under 1%. It's a fairly simple formula - take ALL players under 30 who ever had a chance to turn down more money to skip town to a potentially better situation, count the 2 or 3 who ever did that and divide the 2 numbers ...
