Heat Heat Offering The Kings Marion for Miller & Thomas

I know this isn't directly Raptors related news, but indirectly it is with the JO to Miami rumours.

So, if your Riley and the Heat, do you go with the Kings rumoured proposal of Brad Miller and Kenny Thomas or ours with JO and either Moon or Solomon?

The Heat, of course, badly needs a big man and could use the frontcourt help during its playoff push.

Brad Miller is under-rated, and I probably like him more than JO myself. But on a Riley team, and a Wade team I'd think JO would be the better option. And Kenny Thomas is a hard one to swallow, but then I cannot imagine how Riley could cope with Moon's problems with fouling on pump fakes.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Heat opted for Miller instead of JO. He's as good a defender and rebounder without the stats, he's a better passer, and he can hit the outside shot, opening up the court for Wade.

High bballIQ, unselfish. I wouldn't mind seeing Miller play in some games that matter, he's wasting away in Sac.

It depends really on whether Riley wants a guy to post up for 8-10 possessions a game, or if he wants a role player who can hit the outside shot.

Yeah Miller would be a great fit with Wade, likely better than JO because he doesnt always have the constant injuries, and like people have said he can stretch the floor out all the way to the 3 pt line and he can get Wade a couple more easy baskets a game with his high post passing. That and he'd put Haslem back at his natural position so he wont be dead by the time the playoffs come.

It improves their starting lineup bigtime which is what the Heat needs, because their bench is fine.

Who says Moon is included? If he is it would be because Riley's insistent on it.

Yea I saw this yesterday. I'd love to get Marion here, but if that doesn't work...let's get Starbury

hm, why would the kings do this though? They need prospects, not expiring contracts, and I doubt Miami's draft picks are very enticing to them. In any case, miami would have to offer something in addition to marion, so while it makes more sense to them, not sure if they want to give up draft picks for a 3 month rental of brad miller. Not to mention that once miller expires, they either resign him, or are left with no center for 2009/2010 since they will be out of cap space (thomas only expires in 2010). If they sign miller, then they are out of cap space in 2010 (when only thomas expires).

All in all - I don't see this trade happening, although miller would be a better fit than JO.
