Default Have TO ever won a trade?

Hi guys,

Now. I don't know an awful lot about the history of raps bball. I started watching them 5 years ago.

Throughout those 5 years I remember us

1) Over paying by mind blowing proportions for free agent scrubs

2) Losing good players for pretty much nothing (CB4, J.Jack, Matrix)

My question is (probably a questions for the rap vets) have we ever pulled off a trade that ended up being much better for us?

PS - I don't even remember us doing a significant trade for a starting player. Ever other team manages. Wtf....

If you're talking trades....a good portion of Toronto's trades have resulted in positives. You have to understand that free agency situations are different. for example, when Vince Carter forced a trade there were zero options as once that happens you can't get a return so what you need to look at is did the GM get what was best for the team. I believe that they certainly did. The deal was crafted to ensure that mourning would be bought out. Toronto ended up knocking 6 million off the cap. sounds like a loss, however it wasnt a choice, it was what had to be done.

Hoffa for Humphries was a complete flossing. The Lowry trade is pretty lopsided as well, but again, houston had few choices in the matter and did what they had to. lowry is hurt. but make no mistakes he is a fantastic player for a couple picks.

Charlie V for TJ Ford was good IMO, although Ford got injured a year later.

TJ Ford made more great plays for the Raptors in that one healthy year than Charlie V did in the last 6 or 7 years since that trade.

that was a good one too.

i mean hey, by no means have they done well with transactions as a whole, jesus, everyone leaves.... but trades alone, not horrible, I'd say they did about as well as they could.

I'd say that our first significant trade - Damon to Portland - has been an absolute win.

kenny anderson, alvin williams, gary trent plus picks

you'd have to factor in the anderson trade (billups) to say it was a win imo

Yep, plus those 2 first rounders netted some good returns, I believe, especially considering that Damon never played in Portland like he did here.

I am in Punta Cana @ the moment, Internet is sloooooow, do your own research

i don't think it was ever a matter of him not playing better, it was just that he never had to carry the whole offensive workload for a lottery bound team again.

i'm pretty sure morris peterson came from one of those picks.

+1000, indeed. Doug was the best perimeter defender on this team, ever, all-time. If only he could pass without telegraphing his intentions first...

And Corliss has been one of the first in the long string of failed attempts to get a starting small forward...

Who is Hoffa?

I don't think you could call the KL trade a win yet. We don't know if he'll resign and we don't know if OKC will be picking 4th and drafting a superstar yet.

Blimey? That's it?!?! Talk about scraping the barrel.

Here are examples of what I believe are real trade wins

1) Chris Paul to Clips
2) Kobe, Dwight, Pau to LA
3) Mo Will and J Moon for Baron and Kyrie.
4) Dirk to Dallas
5) KG to Boston

Any many more.

So basically, it looks like no, we've never won FA, including a trade.

LOL, yeah. Asses and breasts have been checked a lot, I am drinking cocktails as I type on iPad Mini, actually, at the lobby because it's raining at the moment. But your point is well taken, sire.

Actually, that was a win. Trouble is it was just fixing another huge BC blunder and it didn't translate to any success whatsoever. Also Barbosa, whilst a talented scorer, is really painful to watch. He never passed EVER and every shot was so damn risky. I'd hate to have him on my team.
