Hassan Adams

Well.

We have him.

And from what I have researched.

Not much bad has been said about him.

And he can flat out play defence.

Fucking Colangelo, he's a friggan coupon clipper baby.

Dude is a deal hound.

a little more.....

A native of Los Angeles, California… Grew up 10 minutes away from the Great Western Forum and lists Magic Johnson as his favorite player growing up… Cites his older brother, Ganiyu, who is an engineer in the Air Force and has served for the United States overseas, and his mother, Connie, as the two people he looks up to the most… When he is not playing basketball, he enjoys bowling and claims that while he is not as good as former Arizona teammates and current NBA players Channing Frye and Andre Iguodala, he has bowled a “twohundred- something.”… Earned a degree in sociology from Arizona… While he was at Arizona, volunteered at the Arizona Special Olympics and the Ronald McDonald House… Lists basketball movies “He Got Game” and “Glory Road” as his two favorite movies of all time… Would like to coach youth basketball when he is done with his playing career.

Character guy.

I love it already.

I would LOVE to get Tony Allen as a backup to AP. I hear that Landry might be available and that would be another great asset for us.

I'm really happy about this move. :)

...colangelo is gawd.

Claudius 07-01-2008 06:49 PM

My only concern with him and it was one my brother brought up, is his size. He's really more of a SF than a SG and he's a bit undersized at the SF position. It's my only concern with him because otherwise than that I think he's a fantastic addition to this team and his game has matured much more since playing in Europe.

ejfron 07-01-2008 07:28 PM

gotta respect BC... he has a scouting team that he trusts... doesn't succomb to the pressures of media or anybody for that matter (which includes us experts on the forums;) - thank god for that

The Raptors also signed former New Jersey Net Hassan Adams to be a back-up at the wing position. A noted defender and spectacular dunker, Adams was cut in New Jersey because the Nets were up against the luxury tax threshhold after the 2006-07 season and spent last season playing in Europe.

He wowed the Raptors at a recent free agent camp and earned himself a one-year league minimum contract with a team option for a second year, much like Jamario Moon did last season.

"It's a great fit for Hassan," said David Lee, Adams's agent. "He can lock down ones, twos and threes and will bring the Raptors the kind of toughness they haven't seen in a while."

Signing Adams almost certainly means Carlos Delfino, a restricted free agent, won't be back with Toronto. It's expected he may return to Europe to play.
Globr Sports

Defense and toughness? He will be in the rotation and Sam will love him.

I LOVVE the approach Colangelo has taken this offseason. Finally someone who learns from our mistakes this year (being too soft), and the results of the NBA Finals (Tough, scrappy Boston beats soft LA)

ejfron 07-01-2008 09:37 PM

Adams a dunker....

Ok last note on Adams - I am liking him more and more.... here's a quote from a Nets fan when they waived him

Quote:

He’s a quality player and I hope this decision won’t come back and haunt us in the future

Maybe we will get the better dunker after all.... <chant>VC SUXS...<chant>

We'll probably be able to switch him with J-Kap.

Acie 07-02-2008 12:13 AM

He reminds me of Desmond Mason.

Kirby 07-02-2008 12:39 AM

Lol now that you've mentioned it have you seen Desmond Mason's free throws? They are nasty.

INSIDER 07-02-2008 10:17 AM

this is the shit that makes me happy...
BC and his crew really work their asses off finding those diamonds in the rough.
just like moon last season, adams will be a big addition to this team and comes cheap.
good job.

Dr. J. Naismith 07-02-2008 10:35 AM

Solid acquisition by the Raptors. Undersized, but I think he's got alot to offer especially on defense. He'll definitely help with our perimeter defense this season. :clapping:

Gurk 07-02-2008 10:45 AM

something the raps really need help with Doc. Perimeter defense and he'll be able to help
