MU is not a fool he would not let other GM's to lowball him
DD+our pick for a lotto pick is a low ball offer, let alone throwing in the NY pick too.

Just write this down, If we trade DD then we will be rebuilding. Right now, we need to help JV to reach his potentials and we need to improve our bench and get a good coach.
Why will you trade an all-star ?
I do not know.

Um for a lottery pick not knowing where you're picking sure.

But a top 5 pick on draft day - that is extremely tough to turn down. That being said I highly doubt a team in the top 5 would deal their pick for that package.

you act as if a top 5 thing is a guaranteed better than DD, in a way that DD will never get to, never mind the two other assets you're throwing down the drain.

you don't trade an all star for picks, unless it's a lebron in the draft and for the first pick (and noone has shown to be) unless said all star wants to leave.

And you act as if a top 5 pick has absolutely no chance of being better than DD. Well it depends if we're talking one or two picks.

You're overvaluing all star status. Jrue Holiday was an all star last year but look at how things are going now. Kyle Lowry isn't an all star but he's been the best player on this team by far. Joe Johnson is an all star this year too.

Would the Spurs trade Kawhi for a top five pick?

Would the Blazers trade Aldridge for a top five pick?

Would the Suns trade Dragic for a top 5 pick?

We really need to calm down about this draft a little bit.

Don't forget though most likely ours and NY picks are going be pretty low. If we get a chance at player who Masai believes is going to be a very good, than we should do it imo.
Not only you get a chance to draft a superstar, but also you give yourself a lot of capspace

Maybe - depends who they'd target.

Probably a hell no considering he's part of their big 3 (and most tenured one) on one of the best franchises in the league.

Most likely a hell yes.

I wouldn't deal NY's pick in 2016. No one knows what will happen with that franchise. For all we know, they could be a bottom-5 team by that season, especially if Carmelo bolts this off-season and the Knicks have zero cap flexibility for the next two years. They could make big moves in 2015 when they'll have cap space, but there may not be many marquee names available.

That pick also could be invaluable in terms of making deals in a year or two. It's possible that the Raptors could be a contender or on the verge of contending.

And the problem I have with the idea of dealing two draft picks + DD is the team is not only mortgaging the present but also the future. Obtaining a top-five lottery pick this year would be nice, but it doesn't guarantee long-term success. That one player also likely won't be better than the cumulative contributions the team could get from DD + this year's first-round pick + the Knicks' 2016 draft pick.

Keep these three assets and look at other ways to supplement the core. Heck, DD is part of the core and the first-round pick this year could also be a big piece.

Denver has the option to swap their pick with NY 2016 so we will get the lower pick out of NY/Denver

It's not protected, but Denver has the right to swap their own pick with NY pick
as a ''future GM'' you should know these things

haha ironic huh? no but in all serious i've read conflicting reports when the trade went down and a few members on here were saying different things as well so i really had no idea. i knew about denver having the right to swap though, here's to hoping both teams suck by then as those future unprotected picks tend to come back and bite teams in the ass.

edit: by the way log i sent you a trade offer on fantasy, a little ballsy but it's worth a shot
