Default halfseason

we are at halfseasn, 41 games down the road.
We are currently 11th with 15-26 and the 8th (boston) is at 20-21.

do you think or dream that we are capable of turning this season and in the next 41 games, be 26-15 at least ?

.500 the rest of way is probably wishful thinking imo. I now believe 33-35 wins is the best we can do.

I might be wrong but I think that's still a significant improvement over last year. There are a lot of positives about this season. Ed and Amir proving they belong on this team, Calderon is still an elite PG, Derozan added offensive moves, Jonas and Ross showing glimpses of greatness, even Fields has impressed when given minutes. Anderson's been great at times as well.

I would be pretty comfortable going into the 2014 season with this roster.
Of course Bargs, Kleiza and Lucas still have to go, trade them for a decent SF (doesn't even have to be a starter cause I like Fields) and get more vets. Then pray for chemistry and more health and we can truly contend for that 8th spot.

If last season was a full season we would've been around 28-29 wins (82 * .348 (win %))

35 would be an improvement, but were we expected closer to 40-45?

.800 gets it done.

I believe that if Bargnani, Lowry, JV, and AA weren't all out for significant time, this team would likely already own 7th or 8th.

I really do

Maybe not the total package, but as far as distributing the ball, he's among the best of the best.

no he's not. you're not going to try and tell me jose manuel Calderon is in the same echelon, even distributing wise, as rondo, cp3, or even a motivated deron

Not really, which is where i thought we'd be now. But do i believe he believes that considering his negative comments here all season about this team?

purely distributing? better than deron, a fair bit better, certainly more consistent if not as flashy sometimes. Pretty much as good as rondo and paul.

I see nothing wrong with Lucas as a 3rd string PG & as a limited time 2nd string PG

Bargnani and JV were killing this team, if they were healthy all season long we'd be with 10 wins or so now. JV would be good as a 15mins role player when needed, he's a tragedy with starter minutes. If Bargs could try 4 shots in 30 minutes every game like in one game this season where he did everything else superior it would be good.
No, Playoffs is out of reach this year, we won't even have .500 for the remaining half of season, not to mention we'd need .750 to make it to the playoffs

Of course I'm trying to tell you that, because it's true. He's always among league leaders in APG and leader in assist to turnover ratio, how could he not be upper echelon in distributing??? We have absolutely no organized offense whatsoever yet he still racks up 10 assists without breaking a sweat. It's not like he has Griffin and Jordan to throw lobs to all night... Calderon is a boss' boss and he's the reason we're winning games, everything starts with him.

He hasn't impressed in the minutes he received and honestly, I don't want him as a 2nd string PG... There are probably better veteran PG's to be had.

Anything can happen but it shouldn't be expected or considered a failed season if the Raptors don't make the playoffs. I remember a pretty average Rockets team winning 22 straight not too long ago,who knows, maybe Toronto gets lucky and goes on a franchise best winning streak. If they make the playoffs during the process, sweet. Otherwise at this point they should be equally or more concerned with making OKC's pick projection as low as possible on the lottery board.
