mehhh, on a mediocre team he is. I like Amir, contrary to how i'm talking about him but he's expendable and i still say for us to ever contend we need to upgrade at that position in the starting role. He expires in 15 months, do you see MU keeping him if Amir expects a raise? I don't, and can you get better than Barnes for him?

Happy as in most fans wanted Barnes on the Raptors when he was being drafted. Im sure a lot of people will be sad to see Amir go because hes a fan favourite and a hustler who plays 100% everytime he touches the court. But keep in mind that he is not an untouchable piece. Amir himself was also a Colangelo move and there is nothing wrong with trading Amir when he has very high value currently.

Downside is we end up being really small but like I said there could be other trades in the works too if this happens. In the end its just a rumour

And both Barnes and Ross are hesitant and lack aggression. It would be quite the task to develop both to their potential without trading Derozan and starting over.

In that sense - it is a Collangelo move. The impact on chemistry is completely disregarded.

We need to upgrade our PF spot, not downgrade. Ross and DD need to be the guys we build around on the wings. Fair value but I'd pass.

Barnes would be a better building block than Ross. He's more consistent with his shot and he has more diversity in his game. He's a decent defender, but not as good as Ross.

If the Raptors can acquire Barnes just for Amir, MU should strongly consider it. Obviously, he should have another deal in the works that nets them a starting PF. I like the idea of seeing if Monroe could be had from Detroit and see if Ross and another piece would be enough. The Raptors' core would be very good - Lowry (if re-signed), DD, Barnes, Monroe, and JV.

The defense with that lineup is questionable. Offensively it's pretty impressive

Yea, love Amir, warrior, Toronto love, yada-yada. He's peaked and has a lot of miles on him since 18 years old in this league, especially the way he plays.

Harrison Barnes is 21 years old, hasn't filled out yet, hasn't learned the game yet and doesn't even know who he is yet.

All of our picks and more cap space plus.....

Lowry
Derozan/Ross
Barnes/Ross
Patterson/TH
JV/vet

Can we move forward like this?

Tweak the lineup with our assets and YES WE CAN!

by that definition, any move to the core is a "colangelo" move since it impacts the chemistry ... you'd probably oppose trading amir for dwight howard for the same reason.

I'd do this deal, and then trade Derozan in the off season while his value is at its highest, then re-sign Lowry, and go after a really good PF.

Lowry/Ross/Barnes is a really good defensive trio on the perimeter, with all 3 playing extended minutes at their natural positions.

Do it.

hard to argue with this. Trading DD in this offseason should bring a huge haul, and resigning Lowry is probably the best avenue to retain value on him. That perimeter trio would be very enticing, as long as they are all expected to be two-way players, which shouldn't be a problem under the right coach.

Yep. I would love to do this deal then finally be able to move Ross to the 2 gaurd and trade Derozan for a good value, maybe get a starting PF out of it. I don't see a trade happening but it would be nice

I also like that trio ... will need Ross to mature and become more physical in his offensive game ... he's just so passive
